we have 450 projects throughout san francisco. we have incentivized wisely over the counter permits so people can navigate the bureaucracy, a $98 fee, flat fee. we are developing projects in this city with minimum requirements for lead building standards. in fact we have a proposal that i will be presenting in front of our san francisco board of supervisors that says you want to build a commercial structure in excess of 50,000 square feet, you've got to provide minimum lead standards of construction. the reason we are doing that is we create an incentive a year ago to do that and everybody in order to get ahead of the queue in terms of the planning process is jumping in saying that's a no brainer of us because time matters more than anything else. so we are going to require it as a base line for doing business in the city and county of san francisco. that follows what we had already done and that is say we're going to spend the taxpayers money, we have got to provide those lead standards in terms of our libraries, reconstructing o

what an exciting day for san francisco. when we can all come together to be reminded of our traditions and the courage of our first responders. i'm so excited to be here with the fire chief. he's been remembering how the fire department helped us out of the earthquake some few years before coit tower was built and also of course with our fire chief remembering the important role that the first responders play. telegraph hill has always been a place that our citizens gather in san francisco, the beautiful vantage points over which christopher column buss looks out. as an italian american i take special pride in the fact that columbus is here. and over the years i took my children and more recently visitors and members of the congress to telegraph hill to see this incredible monument to love of san francisco. to see the murals inside which are a tribute to the working man. some find that controversial. i don't and i think it's time to remind ourselves of that at this time and to remember that those were projects of the w.p.a.

it is the lowest density zoning that we have in san francisco. that's what's been approved and what the planning staff is recommending. i also have copies of the letters from my neighbors, which is a large neighborhood organization in the area that endorsed the project back in october of 2009. i'll pass a copy of that up for you. the issue of sound and health and welfare, it is true these homes will be right adjacent to the freeway. they have been designed with that issue in mind. you will recall a few years ago the supervisors sponsored legislation to require ventilation of homes adjacent to freeways and other traffic barriers so the air inside the homeds is pure -- inside the homes is pure identified -- purified before it goes into the homes. the negative electric legislation to this project that was approved and an appealed discusses in a fair amount of detail that the interior air quality in these homes will be safe because of the ventilation system that would be built into the homes. what's on the overhead now is a cross-section of the proje
