we did get a written update from vernon billy on the state budget, and guess what? we still don't have one. i think this is the longest ever. it is more overdue this year than ever before. we also got an update on the meal ap return rates at schools. there have been some technical glitches, so we are going to get a more full update on that next month, but it sound like there has been good progress on getting those returned. just to update the board, and we did discuss this at the retreat. carlos has designated suzy wong as a staff person to review board policies. she is going to be bringing a recommendation for working with a service, probably cspa to update all of our board policies and make sure that they are appropriately updated and that -- and get them all online, and then they will maintain them for us. i will augment that meeting when it comes to us, and there will be some sort of contract before the board on that issue. the next meeting will be monday, october 18 at 5:30 p.m. >> thank you. commissioner maufas? >> i just want to say that the next meeting for
