our model, we mimic what caltrans did. the measures that they took were very successful with the current level of traffic. the question is what happens in the future. there is a metering flight which holds the traffic backed so that traffic does not exceed capacity of the bridge. the metering lights are activated around 6:30 every morning. the queue starts spilling back about three-quarters of the way back. as you can see, the hov bypass extends beyond that. so the question is, is that going to work in the future? just a few caveat on what we did not study. these are all conceptual ideas. there do not seem to be any fatal flaws to the design, but by no means have they been thoroughly analyzed. congestion pricing in our forecast is not considered. on the other hand, bart capacity is also not considered. travel models do not assume that bart has a capacity limit, so of the model keeps on dumping people on to bart, even if they cannot handle them. at the same time, we have not induced traffic. as far as people using it to its

we've seen caltrans workers p lowing through the snow. we've been taking -- clerking with the executive director from the lake tahoe visitors association all weekend. i just got off the phone with a spokesman a few minutes ago. most resorts have received up 250 minutes of snow. as for us driving up here, we got east of placerville, when a caltrans stopped us anded to us we needed to put trains on our live truck. a little unusual this morning. that worker did see a quite -- did see quite a few drivers head up to lake tahoe last night. everyone hopes to see the snow. but this year -- but this year it's unexpectedly fallen sooner than years past. temperatures are supposed to warm up on wednesday. we haven't been able to go live because our mast on top our live truck is freezing. it's about 28 degrees out there. it's? ing. we are seeing ice and snow mix. so be careful when you come out here. >> how frustrating has it been to drive up there and get around there? >> it's slow. it's slow going, definitely. >> we had chains on our tires. both bro

we have a caltrans camera in the area. looks like just an exit before. and you can see that traffic is really jamming up already as you approach tassajara. again, chp heading to the scene. multi-vehicle crash also involving a big rig. and traffic is stacking up in those westbound lanes of 580 through pleasanton. checking your drive time right now 16 minutes on westbound 580 out of the altamont pass towards 680. we'll continue to watch that accident. in the meantime we still have these two lanes blocked in redwood city. this is southbound 101 right before whipple. chp on scene right now still blocking the left lanes but as you can see this is not causing a big traffic backup so 101 moves along okay. traffic still light in the area. taking you outside, san mateo bridge this is westbound 92 the commute direction. no problems across the san mateo bridge, bay bridge looks good, as well. that's your traffic. here's tracy with your forecast. >>> hey, thanks, elizabeth. well, heading out the door this morning, we got some chilly spots out there especially inland
