our own royal jonathan hunt to join news a bit. first, getting word of a deal in the works to settle the foreclosure fiasco here at home. it would allow banks to put behind them the claims that they evicted thousands of homeowners without following proper procedures. we're told talks are now in the works with bank of america, j.p. morgan chase, and wells fargo for a deal that could change the way those banks handle foreclosures from now on. it comes after several major banks suspended foreclosure proceedings this fall as they faced reports that workers were signing off on evictions without even checking the paperwork. today's news comes as lawmakers get their first chance to question bank executives on this topic. that was interesting. peter barnes from fox business has been watching the hearing. peter, what do we know about this deal if there is one? >> well, shep, banking industry sources confirm that settlement talks between the banks and the states attorneys general are underway. the major banks are talking about at least agree
