laura is able to work with us through a grant from the san francisco school alliance. we have an agreement, an m.o.u. with the san francisco school alliance that spells out clearly what their role is in this work. their role is to recruit corporate and fin thropic investors and other key partners that will help fund our key project initiatives. in times of dwindling resources, we are looking at being focused on what it is we are implementing so we can go out and make a case to investors in our community about why they should be working with us and supporting the work that we do. the alliance has convened key investors and partners and appropriate community-based organizations, providing leadership to the team, as well ased leaders to the specific projects initiative, which is laura. and to ebb sure a-- ensure accountability. and finally, and this is not to be diminished in any way, but to communicate the good work happening in the district to the broader community and other goals and alliances. in terms of next steps, we will do the following. provide regular progress

. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. you have to bring in some of the plants to protect them, your pipes as well. christina has a look at our forecast. >>> yes, indeed, especially up in the north bay where temperatures friday night into saturday morning are expected to fall into the mid-20s. you definitely want to protect the sensitive vegetation up there and probably the pipes as well. definitely cold enough to burst pipes. freezing temperatures forecasted for friday night. it will be very, very cold on saturday morning. and if we see any precipitation on saturday morning because it will be so cold, yes, we could see some flurries on the valley floor. maybe even in san francisco. right now this system is really, really tricky because it is not holding a lot of moisture heading into friday and saturday. the bulk of the moisture is coming through tonight. we'll time that for you throughout the morning. right now it is chilly as laura pointed out. grab the snuggie and the umbrella because you need it later. by noon the sho

>> reporter: yeah, it is really a bad hair day already, laura. i don't know why i did my hair this morning to tell you the truth, right? it has been coming down hard all morning long. we have yet to see a break the in this rain. we are at the base of the santa cruz mountains. the commute looks like it has moved along without any problems this morning. we have made the drive up and over the summit a couple hours ago. drivers are certainly dealing with slick conditions and some fog. chp has issued a fog advisory for the santa cruz mountains. there are signs posted warning drivers of the reduced visibility. now the national weather service tells me there's a slight possibility of hail in the santa cruz mountains specifically because i can assure you it is very cold out here this morning. now, during yesterday's morning commute the peninsula and parts of the east bay got hammered with a very unusual hailstorm. it surprised so many because it is not something we are too used to here in the bay area. >> at the same time, this is kind of the first time

laura is horrified you may not get to valley fair, but this is still early. things have not yet opened. flooding for the area. chp has been called to a traffic problem there. we'll let you know if they get equipment out there to block the lanes to pump the water out. sometimes we see it in the south bay intersections. 680 at mckey we had a dramatic spinout reported when a car flew backwards off the roadway. chp said it was worded dramatic. that was the record, but it is a non-issue. the car slid off the roadway and turned around and went back onto the roadway. just watch the slippery conditions throughout the south bay. that's a big note for folks through the area. we'll get you a look at the maze and the approach to the bay bridge where the commute is building. it is a friday, a lighter build. the spinouts have eased up, but 580 and 680 will see reports of flooding there. and a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza, maybe we have that? we don't. we'll take you back to the desk. i have had enough time. back to you guys. >> lots more to go check out. we'll se
