they use the oscar setting to raise money for critical services they offer. it's a party to watch hollywood honor its own, but for the people tonight, it's not just about the oscars. the $50 donation they gave at the door will benefit stand against domestic violence. the program helps women and children caught in a violent household. it's call center responds to more than 11,000 call as year. and the group operates the county's only shelter for women and children. so the money its raises tonight is critical. >> children who are affected early grow up to have a lot of other troubles in school in terms of acting out in the community, get involved with drugs and alcohol and all of those sorts of things. they're really related to those experiences at home. >> this is really a community wide event. all of the people here have been donors for a long time to the organization. a lot of food was donated. they hope to raise about $20,000 tonight. >> good cause. thank you. >>> well, this oscar weekend and animated twist on a shakespeare classic snatched a surprising win
