the san francisco symphony, the ballet, and ensure we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the san francisco museum of modern art's. one of the things many of our viewers may not understand about museums is the way they grow and evolve is really about a broad. his patient and support from many individuals who give their collections -- and broad support from many individuals who give their collections to the museum. this year it will be celebrating and abolishing those individuals through exhibition -- and acknowledging those individuals throughout asia. joining me is janet bishop, the curator. i understand you have been with the museum quite a number of years. you remember its original home on van ness. now you are part of that transition to the center, the civic center, and of course your museum has been really the anchor of cultural tenants that has helped us transform this area of the city. >> to my mind, it is wonderful to be part of such a rich cultural community. when visitors come to this area, that have so many different options. >> let's talk about the anniversary show, wh

. >> the san francisco symphony. we performed with them and achieved an award. >> the voice chorus. let me introduce you the vocal coach. the inspiration for all of this. what is it about the boys' chorus? it provides a unique sound? >> yes, not only does it have a unique sound but also the camaraderie. with the choir. i do not think that i have a seen this many boys together. and what seemed that some what order,. >> is that part of the challenge? >> yes. >> and in order to get out of the boys and use the music the best to have to harness that boys energy. and it is abundant. >> this group there are hundreds of boys in the boys' choir. >> 256 >> why is this different? >> this is the highest group in the boys' chorus. >> you work your way up to this? >> preparatory. >> how long have you been singing with the boys' scores? >> 5.5 years. >> and you must of started as an infant! >> how long for you? >> seven years for me. >> and what about your basketball career clock >> and this is the best of the best. who is the best? anybody? is there somebody some a mega star? >> tyler. >> pilot-

francisco. the shanghai and san francisco. this is a 30 relationship that stretches back to win dianne feinstein was the mayor of san francisco. we premiered a new work of art here in san francisco called the three heads, six arms. welcome to san francisco. thank you for bringing your extraordinary sculpture. can you tell me about what inspired you to create this sculpture? >> this started with some trips that i took years ago. i went to to bed and i saw a lot of statues and i started to really feel the spiritual life of people in tibet. it really inspires me and i went back to shanghai and i started the creation of this. >> we see that one of the heads of the bullet it is your face. can you talk about the significance of that? -- we see that one of the heads of the buddha is your face. >> i started doing public art almost 10 years ago. what i want to express this as an extension of my our practice. this is an accumulation of my own experience as a performance artist. >> we see that the scale is

francisco. it is a powerful relationship. thank you very much. >> i work on the advocate side for the past four years behind the clean energy launch. each is an exciting day for all of us watching you here today. they mention the 16 kids that came in on friday -- 16 bains that came in on fridays. the aggregate property is eighth to 10 times more than ask for, so it will been interesting to see how that comes in. i think it is exciting to see them fighting to be the best. i had a great time at the thursday night board meeting. there was good news on the financial front. economic viability -- viability has been improved stereo -- improved. they are projecting a budget next year based on how much under they have come in this year, 25% lower in the budget. i cannot wait to see all of the ways you do this in marin. i hope san francisco as jobless in itself with the efficiency first, as models in texas, new england, and the empire state building retrofit. thank you so much, and good luck. >> thank you

francisco. >> that is correct. >> what motivated you? >> i come from a town where this is rich and very much popular in our hometown, so we important the tradition and we can do it in san francisco. >> this is -- and rekindled it in san francisco. >> there is the story of inactivity -- >> here in san francisco, many different community groups come together to create things for the festival, is that correct? >> yes, that is correct. it is coming from different villages. it is only during before christmas where they show all of their lanterns, and then they have the competition among the different villages, and the villages will determine which of those will be the man turn of the year -- the lantern of the year. >> i know you worked earlier for the festival. >> yes, september -- i know you work earlier. >> yes, september. this is so they can see for themselves what kind of lantern they will do. >> and can you describe to me who comes to these workshops? >> during the first year, because there are

francisco. it has been in the park for over 20 years, has become a bit of a magnet for vandalism. we are also looking at several sculptures from henry more, one in front of the symphony building. we are also looking at yen and yang, a much loved peace -- piece. but the team has been damaged over time, so we need to treat -- patina has been damaged over time, so we need to treat it. >> roof and was given a lifetime award for her contributions to and influence over the bay area artist community. >> the lifetime achievement award -- it is embarrassing to me but i have to learn to accept it. this is the way it is. also, everybody here is good things happening about them after they are dead. i have the opportunity to see this happen while i am still lives. i look at this award as an opportunity for me to find a place for my craft and keep the art program going. >> the director of the program address the crowd and ask for each member to consider donating funds to help save some of san francisco's most
