., i'm edward campbell and planning deck tore for portland oregon and i'm here on behalf of our water bureau who sends his regrets. i'm very glad to be here today before i start on the story of portland i want to say the morning session has painteded a picture for me of the scale of issues you face here in california and i hope the story i tell you about portland which we are a drinking water only utility and 80 miles away from the pacific ocean that there are lessons that can be useful to you but our issues pale in comparison to the issues your dealing with here. first a quick description of our system. its the largest one in oregon serving about 8 hundred thousand people. 25 percent of the state and average a hundred million gallons of water a day. our primary source is the bowling river in the cascade mountains east of the city and two reservoirs and ten million gallons of usable storage. we have a secondary ground storing source on the south side of the colombia river and we have capacity to serve our base needs just by ground water some you can count portland among those that bel

overnight and monday morning a few sprinkles possible, mainly northern california and oregon. that's where we will see a few showers. nothing like we had last week, that's for sure. so temperatures for your sunday looking pretty good. a couple degrees warmer from yesterday. mid-60s in san jose, about 64 kuiper tino. as we head to the north we will so about 58 degrees in pacific kau. and 68 milbrae. and downtown about 61. yesterday we were kind of in the mid-to upper 50s. a couple degrees warmer than yesterday. temperatures in the north bay, 67 santa rosa, napa about 66 degrees. oakland, you are going to see about 63 degrees. so lower 60s as we head further to the east the mid-60s. if you want some warmer weather, wait just a few days. we will start to warm things up by the middle part of the week with the accuweather 7 day forecast. again, just a slight chance for a few sprinkles tomorrow. mainly up to the north of us, north bay, that is. and then some 70s, perhaps, by the end of the week ahead. so finally some spring-like weather on the horizon to start to warm things up. enj
