that proposal did not get much momentum in sacramento for a variety of reasons. two of which are important to note. ironically, the proposition that was passed by the voters in november basically said that the state cannot take money from local governments in order to balance the state budget. it turned out to be a problem because we could not give money to the state for constitutional reasons. that was pretty ironic. the state is not allowed to finance or balance the budget. beyond the constitutional issue on financing, it was made clear at the governor's office that they did not have an interest in financing the state budget. that became an issue that we could not work past. all totaled, in addition to the proposal, the big tent city mayors came up with, there were probably at 1.27-30 alternative proposals floating around sacramento. there are two that seem to be under consideration. one from the california redevelopment association and one from the city of long beach. they mirrored one another in a couple of ways. they are both voluntary. they are both a two t

so some of them are happening in sacramento. some of them are happening -- so, for example, i believe a week and a half ago or two weeks ago, the governor met with the county -- the association of counties, and talked with them about realignment. that was in sacramento. our lobbyists were there and participated in that conversation. the governor's office staff have been very involved, specifically in working with probation officers for the state, and a lot of the conversations about how realignment will work have been with that organization. and vocally, then, we are also having conversations about how realignment will move forward. i believe we are scheduling a meeting for next week to continue that conversation. we had an initial presentation at reentry council yesterday. it ended abruptly due to the need to leave the building related to a bomb scare, but there's a conversation that will be happening there as well as within the city departments. i know that mayor lee has asked that he be involved in his conversations -- ask th

courtney dempsey at cal expo in sacramento. thank you. >>> mr. sunshine here, don't want to rain on this parade. we have had some great weather over the past couple of days, record-breaking temperatures. we'll probably see cooling but not bad, looking nice, 70s and 80s in much of the bay area. at the coast, we may see a couple of patches of fog creep in. we have seen that this morning and more could happen this afternoon. the interior looking good. numbers outside now, already 60 degrees in oakland. 62 in san francisco. we have 55 in san jose. still cool, 49 degrees in livermore and also into fairfield. well, it looks like high pressure showing signs of finally weakening but not before leaving us another nice day. you can see off the coastline we have this system that could be bringing showers to the bay area as early as tomorrow but today, yup, the winds will switch directions becoming more of an onshore breeze so some slightly cooler temperatures on tap for the bay area. but not a bad day. these temperatures still running above average. numbers
