for that, i hit the town with fashion guru tim gunn. what lasts longer than many royal weddings is the fashion commentary about them. was diana's dress too big? was camilla's hat a winner? >> off we go. so, cue the carriages. we brought america's top fashion guru, tim gunn, to london, to guide us through the dos and don'ts of what is poised to be the most watched wedding in history. first up, the dress. what should a royal bride wear? well, there's no place better to go than to this boutique, one of london's top designers. >> no lack of wedding gowns. >> no, no lack of wedding gowns here. >> reporter: can kate wear strapless gown? >> most certainly not. she will definitely have her shoulders covered and will have a sleeve. that's just royal protocol. not to show cleavage. not to show too much of the back. it's just part of the expectation and that's the same actually for the guests, as well. >> i heard that if there is anyone risque, people may be tapped on the shoulder and taken away. >> can you imagine that? >> anything can happen. >>

tim gunn, we'll check in again. we were looking, yes, not just at the fashion of catherine middleton but everyone else. i want to start. let's start with the guys. let's talk about the gentlemen. i should say, prince harry and prince william. they looked stunning. absolutely handsome in the uniforms. >> stunning is the right word. i couldn't agree more. regal. william chose to wear the irish guard's red tunic. he stood out. when i saw him in the car leaving for the abbey, i thought, catherine's dress cannot be a simple column. look at the groom. she has to compete with this. indeed, she competed beautifully. prince harry and prince william looked magnificent. >> they were playing the roles of prince charming. if you were a woman going into the ababbey, you had to have a hat. more than a few caught your eye, i'm sure, tim. >> indeed they did. the huge presence of the royal milliner, phillip treacy. my most fascinating fascinators, princess eugenie and beatrice. they are fascinating. >> that is one word for them. it's
