i talked to john chiang's office today they said for the -- they said we have to study the budget and see if the expenditures equal the payouts. i said, you know, in the past i know we have had long times but didn't you do that in the past? didn't somebody sit there and say this is balanced, this is not balanced? they said no. this is the first time we are actually going to sit down and look at the budget and legitimately find out if it's passed or not passed because we have a law now that says the lawmakers don't get paid. they will know in a week. they will decide. if they don't, they don't get a paycheck for the last two weeks. >> we'll tell see how long it takes to get a budget. >> and for them to get their pay collection. >> thank you, phil matier. always fun. dana? >>> thank you. not only did lawmakers fail to produce an acceptable budget. some of them failed to keep their cool. those are southern california lawmakers. the confrontation stemmed from a statement wagner made comparing a budget proposal to a shakedown scheme similar to something from "the sopranos." another lawmake
