i'll talk with congressman emmanuel cleaver in about ten minutes. >>> it could be a major turning point for the occupy protests. some are asking if the tent city in zuccotti park, now gone, is the start of that. others argue the occupy wall street movement is even stronger and that the eviction may be good for the cause. >> i think could have used a little cleaning up perhaps. there may be a little bit of a bad element that's here. but i think generally the reason why they're here is a good reason. >> our twoç colu-- nicholas chh joins us. you sweeted, could bloomberg be a secret occupy wall streeter? he seems to have just revived the movement. what do you mean? >> well, i think the movement is facing real challenges in the form of winter weather, rain, snow, and the fact that they were antagonizing some people in downtown manhattan and also creating concerns among a lot of people about noise, about drugs, about security. and at each point in the occupy movement's brief history, it has been bolstered by the police pepper spraying young women, by the police trying to move them out. i t

megyn: is it fair, mike gallagher, you have representative cleaver, the chairman of the congressional black caucus. he spoke about how his grandfather had to face literacy tests. how many bubbles are in a bar of soap. what cleaver says is quote we are doing things that are just as dastardly wrong as what were done to my grandfather and that's why they wrote this letter. >> no one with an ounce of sense equates what emanuel cleaver is say being this granddaughter to showing your i.d. to cast a vote. these are scare tactics. alan's moral relativeism -- there is only a little bit of fraud going on. it's not that big a deal. moral relativeism. >> explain why i.d.s are not acceptable. why is that? you can't use a student i.d. in wisconsin. megyn: when the supreme court upheld the voter i.d. laws, this is a case that came down in 2008. it happened in indiana. they passed a photo i.d. requirement. the supreme court said it's constitutional despite there was the fact there was no evidence of any voter impersonation at the voting box. >> if it's constitutional why deny certain kind of i.d.? wh

the reverend noah albert cleaver lived and died in waxahachie, texas. and because of the restrictive voting laws in texas and the poll tax, my grandfather lived 103 years in this country without voting. 103 years without voting. while african-americans may have gained the right to vote with the enactment of the 15th amendment, years of jim crow laws and discriminatory literacy tests and poll taxes were passed as poorly veiled attempts to disenfranchise millions which prevented african-americans from having a true right to vote until the voting rights act passage in 1965. students and young americans, while old enough to be drafted into the war, were not able to fully participate in our democracy. mr. chairman, in conclusion, i grew up in texas, graduated from a&m university. prairie view has become an all black town for a lot of reasons. texas a&m is only 40 miles away and prairie view was built as the negro texas a&m. the students there at prairie view cannot vote with their student i.d. however, if you are a gun owner, you can show your gun registrati
