dave feldman, now the consequences of their actions. dave. >> we knew what was going to happen. we didn't know when it would happen and now we do. it happened at 4:28 this afternoon. the redskins released a statement put out by the league making it official. by then, fred davis tackled trent williams, done for the season. suspended. last sunday was the last time we will see these two in uniform. davis was having a breakout season. his 59 receptions ranked fifth among nfl tight ends. 796 yards ranked third. williams, the fourth overall pick last year played his best of the year. that was according to mike shanahan. the nfl released the following statement. fred davis and trent williams of the washington redskins have been suspended without pay for the team's next four games for violating the policy and program for substance abuse. their suspensions begin immediately. they will be eligible to return to the redskins active roster on monday, january 2, following the team's january 1 game against the philadelphia eagles. of course, they don't have to worry about the pesky playoffs. t
