if i didn't have them i don't know what i would do, kind of thing. with samurai's garden i brought it and they never know what to expect from me. one said today, you never write the same story. i always feel i am writing the same story in all the books i have written because there are themes that go through my books consciously i don't sit down and say i will write about duty. or i will write about family. or i will write about world war ii god forbid. it somehow goes through every book i have done even when i tried not to. samurai garden is an example of quintessential set before world war ii, both of my cultures and everything i wanted to do and taught me what it meant to be japanese. that's taking liberty to saying taught me what it means to be japanese. i can't know exactly what it means to be japanese but it gave me a culture. a culture i realize that was a lot japanese. even though i hadn't grownup in it and i was as american as apple pie in so many ways that i started to learn more about the culture and i thought, i'm more japanese than chines

i started because i love dogs, and i realize that as much as i put into it, i will get out, and it has worked that way. i have gone to numerous dog classes, taken dog first aid, and i am certified. i also own a two dogs. i take them with me every day. if i have to cut my number is 25 orszag 6, that is going to cost me money, something like $10,000 every year, and i do not think that is there. i think that does not have to be done. all of our dog licenses are different. we work for our clients. sometimes i work on sundays and help them with their dogs, and it helps people have well- behaved dogs. i feel it is hard to micromanage a group that is the difference, and i feel that some of these restrictions are micromanaging us. i personally do not want to wear a lanyard. i would be ok to carry a card in my wallet if somebody does ask me, but you can see me and know what i am doing. it would be great, people have a huge packs of 16 to 20 dogs, or at least they have a helper to manage such a number. i feel that the $250 is too high for people starting a business. what if they do not know anyb

i should tell you i actually ran twice. i lost my first race. then, went to law school and work at lawyers committee for civil rights. my entire year had -- my entire world has been the non-profit sector. i've spent very little time outside of that, and that is how i learned everything that i have. i thought maybe i would talk a little bit about leadership lessons, the things i have learned over my time. there are four i usually share with young people, but i find that to be relevant everyday in the work i do on the board of supervisors. the first lesson i learned was in college and it was the importance of community building. when i went to college, because of my years in high school working with the coalition for homeless and other youth programs, i came in my freshman year as one of those rah rah after this. many of you were probably those individuals yourself and know of folks like that. i wanted to change the world. i really wanted to challenge people, kind of that kind of energy. i remember my sophomore year i was on staff at one of our et
