we have angela, john and judith. who is your pick and why? we will start with you, judith. >> i think i will still go with ron paul. four days is a lifetime in politics, but. >> why? >> his people are passionate. they passionately care about him year after year after year. does it matter? i don't think so. it's the population of panoma but it matters in terms of momentum. i have to go with him and romney is a close second. >> john? >> the only two candidates in the iowa caucuses in the past who underperformed were moderates, george w push in 2000 and mitt romney in 2008. i think paul has an incredibly committed volunteer race and i believe the finish will be paul, romney and then rick santorum. >> i predict paul, mitt romney is going to be a tie between santorum and gingrich. i believe that santorum is going to take the votes from perry and bachman, the evangelical votes. >> how much does a caucus really determine? or this caucus? >> it doesn't. >> it weeds people out. there are several candidates who are probably ending their race next tuesd

joining us is judith miller a author and fox news contributor. mercedes cohen anddine. thank you all for joining us. >> fred: virginia is one of eleven states holding a super tuesday. we have 46 delegates up for grabs and only two on the ballot. ron paul and mitt romney, does it count? >> it counts but what does it say about the campaigns that they couldn't organize so they couldn't get virginia's minimum standards. newt has a point, when he says, how is this going to be a fair contest when only two out of the top six contenders are going to be there. it's an unfortunate situation because we want more people to vote not fewer people to vote in the primaries. >> obviously the voters have the right to say who their candidates should be. there will be certainly. some of these top contenders aren't there on the ballot. it's infuriate together voters. >> they say newt is the smartest man in the room. the smartest man in the room has taken himself out of the race. the question is, who will the newt supporters support? will they be behind romney or paul? now its two-man race.

let's bring in our panel, judith miller and kirsten powers. this question is raised in part by a "wall street journal" op-ed piece that karl rove wrote yesterday. he writes, debates transfer power to the media, draining it from the campaigns. the media also decide what aspect are most worthy after post-debate coverage. judy, he is saying in his view there are just too many debates. >> i think karl rove is such an influential person in republican party politics that he probably doesn't like any competition from social media. i really disagree with that. i think that, yes, the media emphasized certain themes but i think people respond to other things. they respond to, you know, what michele bachmann is wearing or her aggressiveness in her attack on newt. the media can find -- fine tune a theme, an idea, like the looney label they're trying to stick on newt gingrich. but it is ultimately people who decide. jon: zany i think. >> looney or zany. for lunar, colonies on planets to develop ore. all this sounds weird. they're trying to do that. the med
