it's hard to tell when you take a live look at san jose. downtown san jose, mostly clear start. you can still see the stars overhead. let's take it to the radar and show you what's headed your way. cloud cover slowly but surely sliding the the south bay. most of the cloud cover north of redwood city. as you can see, 15, 20 minutes, mostly cloudy conditions through here. we have a little rainfall coming down in marla's neck of the woods. a little shower activity in santa rosa. right now that cell is sliding south of san francisco. watch out for maybe a little shower activity along the bay bridge over the course of the next ten minutes. low pressure slowly but surely trekking closeer and closer to the coast here. the actual area of low pressure has not yet moved onshore. what's going to happen is the storm track is going to take it way to our north. we might see a few stray showers pass through today. as we head through friday, that storm track comes deeper into the bay area. 37 in napa, 37 in livermore and everybody this morning is above freezing. 60 today in concord, about 61 in

he was spotted in san jose, a siting over the past few days. officers aren't giving more specifics other than to say they do have, quote, credible evidence he was in town. not clear if he has since left. at okay hill cemetery in san jose. he was shot and killed by a member of the biker gang. ruz has been at run ever since. had been driving a pewter covered gmc yukon and an older model toyota four runner. they do consider them arm and dangerous. not the type who is a threat to the general public. they believe this shooting was an isolated incident. they also believe ruiz has ties in fremont, campbell and gilroy. marla? >> okay, bob. thanks. >>> 5:32 now. a surprise ending for church goers leaving a late night service in hecules. a van crashed into the side of if full gospel fellowship on willow avenue. this happened at 10:00 last night. witnesses say the driver was speeding away when he slammed into an empty children's nursery area. it was a mess inside. toys and books were tossed around. many were destroyed. luckily no reports of any injuries.

san jose police say that he was a cheerleading coach in east san jose. losa worked as a cheer coach. at the facility in san jose where the owner says he was never unsupervised. according to the arrest affidav affidavit, losa the alleged victim's coach at one of two places. according to the affidavit, admitted a physical relationship, kissing and sex. losa said he knew the victim was 14 and he loves him it just happened. >> 14-year-old cannot consent. we have laws to protect children. they're too young. they don't hatch the experience. not in a position yet in their lives where they can make informed decisions. >> now losa faces three felonies and misdemeanor and barred from any contact with the boy. in court the judge reduced the bail from $500,000 to $160 t but ordered hum nim not to be unsu r unsupervised with any minors. losa does not have much choice in that matter he was fired by the eastside union school district on tuesday. while losa its accused of violating the trust of one young person. others showed up along with his family to back him up. >>

we'll take you to san jose. you can see a line of showers approaching morgan hill in the next ten minutes. downtown, not much is happening. along 680 we have light rain. you can see here around 101 and 280, seeing a few scattered showers and a few more out here towards 580 and 680. really looks like light rain out there as we continue to move to san francisco and oakland. things are already starting to dry out. this is a weak system. not a lot of moisture with it. mainly impacting the morning. we're talking between now and 9:00. some rain at times in the south bay. around lunchtime we have clearing skies, showers moving out. high temperature today mostly in the mid-50s. come tomorrow in the seven-day forecast, you'll see breezy conditions. look at the the dry forecast into the weekend. 50s and 60s. but that rain can still be causing problems in the south bay. >> definitely. we talked about it's been a while since the rain has happened. it will be slick at the offramps especially at the highway speeds. i want to

the economic times here in san jose. but they are getting new in firefighters to help out in the front lines. along with the closure of this station. san jose had to lay off 49 firefighters. they were mostly new recruits. the department brought 22 of them back. the other firefighters found jobs elsewhere. now the department is able to hire more firefighters, nine today. the ceremony will begin at 3:00 at the training center. these are firefighters who transferred from other departments and had completed their modified economy. the new teams will be ready to hit the rigs and fight fires beginning on sunday. that means staffing levels will soon be back to what we had in san jose two years ago. some argued that's still not enough to meet the demands of a city the size of san jose. 18 more firefighters will go through a similar academy beginning in february. so thins are beginning to get back to normal. the hope is with attrition these firefighters will be able to stay on permanently. i'm damien trujillo, today in the bay. >

that's over in downtown san jose, very popular with the homeless. we found just a few people sleeping on one of the park benches. it's popular with the homeless. now, the city of cher conducted its first over homeless census this year and found that almost 11,000 individuals experience homelessness every year in san jose. that's a 21% increase from only two years ago, and one-third of them are female. here is what's really disturbing, 126 of the homeless were children under 18. let me bring in lori collins the director of the shelter here. you kind of go into a different mode when the temperature goes below a certain level. tell us about that? >> when it goes below freezing, about 32 degrees we go to cold weather in status where basically all of our multi-service centers, the ones like here in the background open up 24-7. we allow folks off the streets even if we're full and we pull out some cots and mattresses and let them come in on the floor, intoxicated or not. it doesn't matter to us. we want to get people out of the streets so no one dies. >>
