the fire happened at a home on west gate lane in penn grow not far from petaluma. we're live with new details on this investigation. >> reporter: good afternoon. those two bodies were badly burned according to the sheriff's investigators. they were found inside a home just up this road in a rural area known as penn grove just outside of pet lima. sheriff's investigatorser still up there trying to determine the cause of this fire. the narrow dirt road leading up to the cause was blocked off by crime scene tape early this morning after this fire killed two people. sheriff's investigators have not positively identify the bodies. neighbors told us the two people who died were an elderly woman in her 90s and her son who lived in the home with her. sheriff's investigators don't know how the fire started but are treating thises is a crime scene. >> right now we're not seeing anything suspicious. we're not seeing any signs of foul play. it's still an ongoing investigation. >> reporter: neighbors tell us when this fire first broke out it was around 12:30 a.m., flames were s
