her name is christine ralph. >> but before we meet christine, let's listen to her story about her struggle with cerebral palsy. >> my daughter christine was born with cerebral palsy. she was always a happy child, but things changed in high school. high school was difficult for christine. she was ridiculed and isolated by her classmates. but at just 15 years old, christine decided to take her bad experience and turn it into a mission to help people by creating kids for kids, a disability awareness educational workshop that teaches what makes us different makes us beautiful. in 2002, christine graduated from st. joseph's university with a b.a. in elementary education. she was not sure what she would do after graduation. she went to a summer performing arts program for people with disabilities in maine. when we went to see christine's performance, i noticed a huge change. she was more confident and independent than i had ever seen before. christine's brothers are in the children's summer camp industry and knew that a similar program was needed in the philadelphia area. christine knew exactly

i'm christine rushing yards here. well we want to start this afternoon by taking a look at some of the fallout from this weekend's massacre in afghanistan the shooting rampage led by an american soldier who left his base saturday night lock more than a mile and then broke into three separate homes killing sixteen civilians including nine children and three women who have been in this village in the punjab why district of khandahar in this area is considered to be the birthplace of the taliban where this is a after the shootings the men gathered the bodies and then set them on fire before returning to his base and turning himself in that man is now in custody according to u.s. officials he's a staff sergeant based at the joint base lewis mccord in washington state he's married with two children and has already had already served three tours in iraq and had been in afghanistan since december now as you can imagine this incident has been a major setback in u.s. afghan relations already on extremely shaky ground after las

christine? >> gentlemen, what you have argued is it makes more sense for greece to leave the eurozone because they have more control over their currency. they have more control over their destiny. is that something you are alluding to? >> no, i would strongly disagree with that. actually when we look at past episodes of -- you see that in order to stabilize the new currency, you need the same reforms that greece has failed to do so far. if they add the euro with the same structures as today and after failing to reduce the deficit there is very high risk that any competitiveness gains will be only temporary and in greece you will have economic instability. and so the euro itself is for greece. a weaker euro would have helped. but in this situation that greece lacks policy credibility, the suggestion would be much worse than today. >> okay. stick around. let's update where we are with the global markets right now. christine? >>> markets here, ross, essentially higher. we had the bullish sentiment

., this is christine here in asian. this slight optimism that you're talking about, when will it start to filter through into the job market? >> i think the job market is very, very jagged, christine. i think that the problem that we have is that on the one hand, you've got jobs which are increasing, and then you look at the u.s. coincident index which really measures very accurately the growth of consumer spending. and although consumer spending has bumped up a little bit, the general trend is down p. so when you take in all these factor, i think that the job market looks like a little bit of a blip. and we get so caught up in the fact that there's this three month trend, we're back on target, but let's get down to the internal numbers. the jobs that were lost are not the exact jobs being replaced. talk to the average guy where the rubber meets the road, the guy making $70,000, $80,000 is not making $70,000, $80,000. he's fortunate on get a job for $40,000 or $50,000, he's fortunate to even have a job. so the jobs bein

. >> you're whaping worldwide exchange with christine. i'm jackie. great to have you with us this morning. let's start here in the united states and take a look at the future to see how we're poised for trade on wall street. it looks like it's going to be a mixed open. the dow would be lowered by 6.5 points. the nasdaq highered by one and change and the s&p 500 lowered by one, this, of course, after a positive session on wall street. we saw that nasdaq and the s&p and the dow all hitting 52 week highs. the financials were fuelling a little bit of the rally yesterday. some of that post-stress test. we saw the utilities to the downside. how does it look over in london? >> well, remember, we hit fresh 2012 closing lows for both last night in europe. that's after some slim games. once again, it's being relative. just up over 6% for the year. it's up over 21% so far this year. very much mirroring the moves that we've seen in the united states. the other big feature this week is the selloff in fixed inside markets. that is a 10-year yield, now up to 1.99%.

numbers later, christine? >>> well, those premier wen jiabao comments we were talking about were pretty strong about growth forecast for 2012. 7.5%. still, investors are taking that as an excuse to take some profit from the table. the nikkei 225 is up 0.8%, drifting further below the 9,800 level. the topix up. institutional sellers are selling ahead of the closing in the japanese market. elsewhere 0.6% lower is the china market. people are saying we're factored into the market but, you know, em are still taking money off the table because this particular market has risen quite a bit. so is the hang seng up with the property developers, the chinese financials moving lower as a result of slowing is growth concerns coming from china. the kospi is up. the australian market, those numbers really hitting down 0.2%, marginal losses. up 0.4%. the sensex over in india down . 1.7%. so for a monday not looking so good, ross? >> and we hit those pmi numbers out of europe. they foe can cucus on growth ann see advancers out

and it's 69%. >> christine? >> equity markets here in asia today are rallying because they think it's a done deal and we managed to avoid a messy default from greece. what kind of result do we need to see from greece whether it's cds or the -- what actually do we need to see for equity markets to continue their rally next week? >> first of all, i think the participation rate we achieved which is close to 85% is a positive. it's much higher than expectations. ours were around 70% from a client survey we did a week ago. so this is a positive, a vote of confidence. if you look at the premarket prices for the new greek bonds they traded double digit yields so the market is still worried about the periphery, about greece and portugal. what's reduced here is the contagion risk which is also one of the positives of the ltro. there are some isolated cases of insolvency and that bondholders will feel some of the pain there but overall the banking system is a little bit more resilient. so i think the ltro will continue to
