jeff ranieri has a look at our forecast. >> while those showers are really slow to move in, we have a batch just off into central and southern california that will eventually start to creep up. as you can see, a bit of lift in some of these clouds this afternoon. we still can't rule out the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm for tonight, but it's been pretty dry for a good section of the north bay down the peninsula. what you'll see is this huge trough of low pressure off the pacific coastline and will mean theossibility of showers for tonight. you'll see a lot of active on interstate 5, also on california 1. a lot of this active about 69 miles away from reaching san jose, so we think it will hold up and some of the southern fridges of our viewing area will get something tonight. we're not expecting totals to get too high. so it's testione of those storm where some of you may not see anything at all. every rain drop we desperately need. we'll timeline not only the showers tonight, baugh second system for the morning. >> we'll see you then. >>> losing a loved one in a violent crim

. >>> let's bring jeff ranieri in. >> there's enough to share. all right. it is blustery out here. a lot of wind to go around from the north bay to the south bay. blustery. starting to calm down throughout the peninsula and in san jose. that's where the temperatures will be plummeting. with that wind with us in the north bay, feels like 39 in napa. 38 in santa rosa. we know it's going to be cold out there. here's the other layer. we're expecting some area of patchy frost for the morning. headline for friday will be sunny weather. and this weekend, a decent amount of warming where temperatures could be doing up 10 to 15 degrees. all of that colder air is starting to slide to the east. here comes the high pressure, this mild string of weather we think will be getting here as we head into saturday. that will have the 70s returning, that looks to stick to your easter forecast. a bad couple of days coming up after four or five weekends in a row of wet weather. the forecast advisory, just issued in the past half hour for santa rosa, petaluma and nevada. we could have isolated 20s here. a

let's bring in our meteorologist stepping in for jeff ranieri tonight. >> the seven day forecast is unusually active for this time of year. it is gorgeous outside. have high clouds approaching the bay area. right now as we take you outside, it's going to be a gorgeous sunset. you're looking live at san francisco by the golden gate. the high clouds will be reflecting a lot of that late-day sunlight. you get the pretty sunset tonight. this after a day that was warmer than yesterday. you can see our high temperatures around the bay area, mostly in the low to mid 60s for places inland. san jose, 63. morgan hill up to 68. still cool for san francisco. we had that all-day sea breeze keeping the temperatures in the 50s. 62 in oakland and 63 degrees around livermore. we have a health had i sea breeze which is good keeping our temperatures cold tonight. not as cold as last night. right now the numbers in the 50s from oakland to san prfrancisco. it will be chilly for the home opening. the winds still coming in off the ocean which will keep things cool around the bay area. we will see lows towards the t

let's check in with chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. >> a few of us may get a little something, not expecting a major storm system, but some big-time changes at least from the record-setting temperatures we had only what, four or five days ago. and today we did have 77 in napa. 77 in gilroy. 75 in los got owes and currently we're dropping with a slight on shore flow across peninsula, 64 in san mateo. we'll take you to our sky camera network this evening from oakland, looking right towards san francisco. and we've had some breaks of sun out here, but overall, the clouds start to go build two systems. we are currently monitoring off shore. to our weather maps, throughout the early evening this sub tropical moist you're here and regional pressure associated. that will bring us our chance of showers tomorrow. a lot heading to the south. and then we also have a cold front to the north. so we're sandwiched between both of these, which is going to minimize the impacts for us. it will probably be more of a nuisance kind of a forecast, and majorly disruptive. here is the jet stream that will
