workers aged 25 to 54. by 2011 the median duration for older workers had increased to 35 weeks compared to 26 weeks for prime age workers. also in 2011, over half, 55% of jobless older workers were unemployed for 27 weeks or more and 15% were jobless for two years or more. we hired older workers displaced from work between 2007 and 2009, also generally sustained greater earnings losses than prime age workers. the median earnings replacement rate for these older workers was 85%. meaning that on average they earned only 85% of their previous wage. this is compared to 95% for prime age workers. about 70% of these retired older workers sustained some job loss compared to 53% of prime age workers. job loss can affect the retirement security of older workers in many ways. for those fortunate enough to have a traditional pension, long-term unemployment can lead to fewer years of accruing benefits from growth in wages and service, and may prevent short tenured employees from investing. for those workers with 401(k)

when i talk about seniors, i am talking about people aged 60 and above. so we already have 19 percent signed. any increase in older persons is cord to be very significant for san francisco, because we already have a greater number than other counties. -- so we already have 19%. ethnic trends among the seniors in san francisco. growing number of pacific islanders. if we come back and 10 years to do this again, no doubt the age of pacific islander trend would be higher than the white population. they are now about even. this is consistent with long- term trends in the city. if you notice, the number of latinos has gone up slightly. they tend to be a younger population in the city, as do african-americans. this has tremendous implications for services in the city. the show's english fluency. persons who are older, almost a third have limited english proficiency. much different from the rest of the state where 70% are white. here, they're much more likely to be immigrants and limited english proficiency. i want to speak specifically about poverty. this shows
