joce. >> reporter: there are 40,000 gas pumps at 2000 gas station across maryland. a lot of ground to cover but the state checks everyone and so did week looking at inspections for every station in the baltimore area. our abc2 news investigation focused on 724 gas stations in baltimore and baltimore county and anne arundel harford and howard county and looked at the last 4 inspections and found more than 4,000 pumps rejected or condemned. now of those more than a thousand were flagged because of problems that could impact what you pay at the pump. >> the bottom line is we want the complete transaction to be valid for the consumer and on both parties make sure there's no gain on either side of the sell or buyer. >> reporter: now our investigation also found that when there is a problem with the pumps, station owners are three times more likely to lose money than you are. so you have to wonder what about the stations where you use a lot or how do you spot a problem pump. check on web and mobile and tablet and check this abc2news.com/pump report. we want to show you a

joce sterman last been tracking it for months. she's got latest on who's been busted. >> reporter: when drug enforcement agents raided this building, they broke up a suspected pill mill at healthy life medical group. we've been watching them for months and some of the feds, since last april. >> there was a lot of suspicious activity. >> reporter: what they found is an onslaught of patients as many as 80 a day paying $350 for prescriptions. a pharmacist sounded the alarm. >> how come i'm filling so many prescriptions for people who don't live in maryland and they're written by healthy life. >> reporter: two of the operators have been arrested. records show that alina margulis, michael reznickov and gerald wiseberg ran the business. the investigation started here at 9607, right off reisterstown road. this building was the original home for healthy life medical group and for people who live hard here, having these guys as neighbors was a nightmare. >> i never the police in -- callinged the police in my entire life. >> reporter: after

joce sterman has been tracking it for months. so how were these doctors able to hand out the prescriptions. >> reporter: they had the patients come in. many came from out of state. they were told to get an mri at a specific local clinic. they bought in these and would ask a limited number of questions, take cash. they didn't take insurance and the clinic was able it give out these prescriptions. it was local pharmacists realizing they were filling a lot of prescriptions and they cried fouled. >> you reported there have been arrests made. what do we know about those running the clinic. >> reporter: there were three individuals rung the cline -- running the clinic. one was out of florida that was moving one there. that was shut down. what we're told based on the documents, they were coming, staying in a hotel, working for the week. they with go into the clinic and making a ton of money based on the reports. we'll talk about that at 6:00. >> meanwhile, people working in the business seeing this. >> they were alarmed, making calls. t
