what does collection look like in san francisco? in san francisco, more bottles and cans are recycled through recycling centers than through our curbside program. this represents a total of 17 million in crv production, 6 million going to curbside and 11 million going to our recycling centers. i will note here on our recycling centers, what we tend to see is that folks are taking high value and low weight items to our recycling centers. aluminum has a higher redemption value than bottles do, so we are seeing that is the primary uptake. these numbers, around 17 million in san francisco being redeemed, it has been pretty consistent year-to-year, probably for the past five years. this gives a good snapshot of what we collect curbside and what is actually taken to crv centers. how does san francisco kind of the chief our 70% of diversion? just to give you a sense of where we collect, our commercial recycling program that includes our construction and demolition debris recovery probably represents 60% of our recycling and diversion effor

i m leader pelosi's district rector in san francisco. i've been with the for about nine years, and we are excited to put on this forum today to help people learn how they can access credit and capital for their small business. click background on some of what was accomplished in the last congress when later closing was speaker of the house. she had had 16 tax cuts signed into law to help small businesses grow and thrive. as we know, during the last 15 years, small businesses account for about 2/3 of the job growth in our country, but when the bush recession hits in 2009, 2010, small businesses were hit particularly hard. small businesses are the center of her agenda. congress under her leadership gave 27 million small businesses tax cuts. two main pieces of legislation -- the small businesses jobs act in the information you have, will create a total of 500,000 jobs and create eight tax cuts. they are all described in the packet you have. also, unleashing up to $300 billion in credit for small businesses to access. there are another eight

the story of san francisco general started in 1851 san francisco started the board of health. the hospital moved here to potrero avenue. the hospital was rebuilt over the years, offering children's and psychiatric services to respond to the needs of children. in the 1998's, the current hospital was -- the 1990's, the current hospital was built and was one of the first hospitals to open there doors to aids patients. we became famous around the world for that, helping to break the stigma of hiv/aids. the mayor has just arrived. welcome, mayor lee. i was born and raised in san francisco. i live in twin peeks. for the people i love and all the people that come to san francisco for medical care, it is of the utmost importance to begin construction on a seismically sound hospital now. on monday, a group returned to install a new generator at a hospital that they rewired a year and a half ago. it's an amazing display of kindness, doing right by those in need and having a skilled trailed you love. rebuilding cpmc would provide my brothers and sisters with the opportunity to build a safe, seismically sound and advanced medical facility. rebuilding cpmc would allow our journeymen to get back to work, have pride in what they do and pass on their skills. san francisco joint ring the academy ask committed to providing the highest level of training. we've opened doors for city participants to come in and be exposed to be a -- what a union apprenticeship has to offer. this would be a great opportunity for those trying to get hours to become journeymen. it would give hope to our members still waiting o

this is just a tremendous day for san francisco. we have made tremendous inroads in impacting violent crime over the last few years. it is because of our staffing and the community support to do it through the community policing in the engagement of young people. this will allow us to keep doing that. we're going to lose close to 300 officers with the sunset of drop, and maybe another 100 officers before the summer of 2015. this will dramatically impact that. what the academy is is 29 weeks for entry level officers. eight weeks for lateral transfers. that includes a one-week fire arm training, one-week vehicle operation steny, one-week of officers of rival, and then continued use of force and physical training throughout. -- one-week vehicle operation training, one week of officer survival. and community policing. the mayor mentioned gary. none of the efficiencies that we have had could have ever happened without the support of gary and the other members of the board of directors of the poa. the officers have stepped up, worked diff

the benefit to the city and county of san francisco is priceless, serving all of san francisco in the neighborhood and providing community resilience. thank you so much for your support. supervisor chu: thank you. next speaker. >> hello. good morning. i am an operator at laguna honda hospital. i come before you today on behalf of our residents and staff to urge you to return the money is allocated to our department. we as operators work as one to ensure the safety of our residents and staff 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. we are the first point of contact for all emergency services. to this point, on the night shift alone, we have 26 emergency calls. paramedics and firefighters alike have depended on operators to accurately pinpoint needs. due to the fact we are within the hospital, it gives us the advantage of knowing the full way out of our facility. operator responding from outside the facility would not have this advantage. one cannot base and operators work solely on statistical numbers. we go to work every day to ensure the safety of our residents and integrity of laguna honda
