bob redell looks at the area's air quality, but we start with christie smith with what chevron is now saying about the leak that sparked several explosions. >> reporter: i can tell you we're outside of chevron's richmond refinery waiting to hear from a spokesperson. they are walking up and expected to get started any minute. what i can tell you is that i spoke with richmond fire this morning. as far as they know the fire is out. i can show you what the scene looks like this morning. employees still coming and going as normal. i drove by the refinery this morning. we didn't see that huge plume of smoke or flames that blackened the skies into last night as emergency sirens blaired in the neighborhood. when this fire started at the refinery it was around 6:15 last night and we all know it sent huge plumes of black smoke about five to six miles in the sky prompting a shelter in place, warnings for neighboring communities. sm chevron reported everyone was accounted for. this began in something called their crude unit number four with a leak saying it was about the aut
