to see a $440 million loss was a big surprise this morning. >> brian kelly, do you have a question? >> hey, rich, i'm looking at the bonds today were actually trading 70 cents on the dollar. we know they're going to have to be recapitalized some way with the stock down 50% today, which would you buy here? is the stock a buy on the idea it's going to get broken up and there's assets there, or do you go buy the bonds, trying to replay the capitalization? >> i'm not probably comfortable recommending the bonds at this point. we don't know what the the scenario is. we'll have to wait and see what the cash burn is and whether the customers stay with knight. they're going to need the likely need a little influx of capital. at this point, you know, it's, this is a situation that's in flux. we're not telling people they should be buying at this moment. either way. >> rich, have you had conversations with tom joyce, the ceo of knight? >> we traded emails last night. >> but you haven't spoken since the 440 million number came out? >> no, we haven't. >> do you have any indication of the stat us

. >> hey, helen, it's brian kelly. if you look at the forward rates and the actual spot, it looks like money is starting to flow out of china, that perhaps the pboc is actually supporting the currency here. are you seeing any anecdotal evidence of people taking money away from china and no more fdi? >> well, i wouldn't say there's no more fdi. i think fdi continues to happen. but i think in terms of anecdotal evidence, sure, you know, i think people have become more, you know, worried, concerned regarding china's lack of structural reforms over the past couple of years. so, you know, we do see anecdotal evidence of people around us who have been perhaps moving some of their assets overseas, you know, trying to look for opportunities such as the depressed u.s. housing market that seems to be heading for a rebound in the medium term, et cetera. yes, we see some of that. hopefully that's not going to be a permanent trend. >> helen, thank you very much for spending time with us here at "fast money" and putting up with us a

brian kelly, how would you play this besides a three week junket to the sankokus? >> that is the much better way to do it here. it is a little difficult to try to put a conflict trade on because there is so much politics involved there. if you look at the middle east conflict, you look for saudi arabia to start to turn the spigot on in oil. to me that would be the first sign perhaps the u.s. will back israel in some kind of attack on iran. over in asia i think probably the two best markets to short here would be australia and number two south korea. both have housing bubbles, both very tied to the chinese economy. if there is a conflict that decision rupts trade both of those countries will be hurt pretty bad. >> simon? >> i agree with brian skpf i think one of them would be energy. namely look to be picking up if any of those sort of ignite anywhere a schlumberger, that would be a name i would hold in there. >> shokoku is the fourth largest island that means four counties. more stories about investing in other countries where you can find europe's fastest growing

brian shactman is in new orleans following the storm. he's got the latest. >> hi, kelly. i can barely hear you. still no new news in erm thes of what's going on in the gulf. no reports of major damage. although plaquemines parish which has had the bulk of the storms force water over the top levee. there are three refineries in that area. they were all shut down before the storm. we're trying to get an update on the status of any damage to those refineries. here in new orleans, basically it's not the storm surge is much as how long we to deal with the rain. we did a ride along with the u.s. national guard. we'll give you details in the next hour about what they're dealing with. they weren't here until well after katrina came through. the last thing i want to really point out is right there, that's where cruise ships come in. they're due to have a cruise ship with 2500 people come in tomorrow. there's a good chance that's not going to happen. a lot of them have their cars parked in here above where our camera man is. if they can't come in, they'll have to find another port.
