joining me the pollster, the one and only frank luntz. how are you, sir? >> i'm fine. i'm not sure they are going to continue to gain steam in that so many voters have seen so many ads at this point, if you are in ohio, six of the eight are already politics and it's still a month and a half until election. >> before we get to the ads, how do you look at the events of the last two weeks? the president, i support redistribution. americans don't agree with redistribution. and we are learning in fact this was a terror attack, the an jersey of 9/11, and this president didn't beef up security at our embassies, despite warnings we had threats. >> there's a simple answer and it's actually a pretty ugly answer. if the american people saw the photographs as i did earlier today of the ambassador and what he went through the very last minutes ever his life, it's hard for me to talk about it, it's so horrific. but the public haven't seen the pictures. >> but the question is how big an impact could that have and is this something -- >> this is not a flag burning. this is not an aver

megyn: we had frank luntz on and he did think this is an effort to put mormonism front and center in this race to scare people who don't understand the religion or gin up prejudice. as a mormon your thoughts on that. >> i have been proud of the electorate. it hasn't been front and center. but when you have someone who is an active mormon, someone who is the senate majority leader throwing the religion under the bus, that's what makes it so sickening and so absolutely wrong. i think most of the country gets this. but obviously senator reid doesn't. megyn: is he being used by folks who would like to see the president reelected or do you think this is an organic thought he decided to share with reporters? >> i don't think this is a spontaneous thing. he certainly didn't apologize for it afterwards. i think his senate democrats who put him into this leadership position have to call somebody out on this. imagine if republicans had said the same thing about the president. a principle is a principle and you have got to stand on it. it's disappointing there haven't been some senate democrats
