ocean city with showers early on. and that even may clear out with a high of 78 degrees. 68 in the mountains though as we have some rain showers possible even as we head later into the day. that's what that upper level low system that i mentioned everyone else expecting dry weather. now, the coast has another concern. that's rip currents and high surf. as we have our latest tropical storm leslie. this continues to led north, likely to pass east of bermuda today. it's been sitting in place for so many days, it's roughening up the waters. all along the east coast including ocean city we do have to watch out for rip currents. no concerns to the east other than the rip current. michael, our hurricane, stays well out to sea. that takes us into our seven day forecast. this is spectacular. we have completely dry weather through the entire week. reinforced by that next cold front and high pressure system. we're talking sunshine all the way through thursday. highs in the next couple of days in the upper 70s. especially tuesday

we continue with a live look at ocean city. a look at those waves. a few people brave enough to attempt them right now. there's also a couple people on the board walk. notice how it's still a bit wet. looks like most of the rain showers are starting to taper down. they still have clouds sitting over the coast. we'll talk about the waves in a moment. let's show you hd doppler to show the rain is indeed moving off the coast. that's what's left of our severe weather yesterday. cold front moving off shore. in its place, beautiful weather rolling in? we're gonna expect the quiet weather to last for some time. you want to talk about the tropics real quick because this does play a role in the weather, at least near ocean city. look at tropical storm leslie as it bears to the north. if you had to get a tropical system, that's the better side to be on. still concerns there with high surf and the strong winds. leslie is such a large storm about 400 miles across. it's been sitting in place for several days. that means it's basically just been churning up the wa

piece i thought it would be nice to go ahead and start with the ocean city forecast. generally speaking, water temperature is right around 80 degrees, clouds and sun each day with a chance for some late day showers and thunderstorms. that looks like on sunday, monday those showers and storms get a little more numerous, temperatures in the upper 70s to the middle 80s or so. a whole lot cooler than what we were here today, 97 reagan national, not a record, though. the record was 100 degrees. dulles 95, bwi marshall 93 degrees and this is where the temperatures are now. we cooled down a bit, not a lot, 85 in town, quantico 83. it has dropped at least to the upper 70s for some, couple spots fallen to the lower 70s. so we've talked about this a bit it. does look like we're into this unsettled pattern going through the holiday weekend. showers, thunderstorms coming back into our forecast as high pressure breaks down and that tropical system, what's left of it back out to the west, will come. in it's not going to be too terribly bad tomorrow. wetter forecast comes in on sund

that's the flooding conditions at ocean city. now it's moving off shore. in the meantime back across the baltimore area, all eyes on camden yards, the yankees come in. we dedicate the statue and looks like conditions will hold up well weather wise. it'll be dam many from the rain we had earlier in the city but in terms of new rain, even a few isolated showers. they have fizzled out. that is very good news for fans downtown. annapolis today was a cloudy weather situation which not much sun until late in the day. there were showers, on and off across the area. no question about that statewide. there are some little late day clearing. in ocean city one of the last places to clear, now we are seeing blue skies, breakthrough at the beach here to end the day. take a look at the rainfall totals across the central part of the state. about a tenth of an inch, annapolis just under a tenth of an inch. federals bug getting nearly six tenths of an inch, more than a half inch there and totals higher toward the beaches, look at some of the temperatures, low 80s and upper

heading up farther north now bethany typically in the upper 80s just like ocean city and as they cool down a little, so will bethany. you jump the bay. temperatures there will be in the 80s falling down to the upper 70s by labor day. big remnant of isaac just sitting out to the west right now. it is sitting and spinning, but all the forecast guidance suggests that this will be moving off to the east and so as that much moisture is coming our direction, you know our chances for rain, thunderstorms will be going up. back out west, though, now this is a graphic that will take you right through labor day and through the holiday weekend. this big red here is out of the midwest. this is good amounts of rain for them. drought stricken areas. some places could pick up 6, maybe in isolated places up to 9 inches of rain. they'll take it after the devastating drought that they've had over the summer and as we get a little closer here, i think especially sunday and monday we're talking about getting some rainfall up and down this i-95 corridor for maryland and virginia 1 to 2 inches of rain. out
