this is right there by the port of oakland. you may find delays on some of the roads heading that way throughout the day today. they are picketing outside sfo but not expected to disrupt air travel. we have two separate water main breaks. you may have just seen those live pictures in pittsburg at west 10th and cutter. a five-foot sinkhole in the area because of a water main that broke just after midnight so a lot of folks without water service in the area. they are working hard to restore it now. in the meantime, a separate water main break also occurred early this morning at redwood city. they were able to cap this but that street area that intersection of brewster and warren street is expected to be closed throughout the morning. they say it's going to be about six hours or so to fully make those repairs. several garages were flooded in the neighborhood, as well. all right. let's go out towards the roads. accident-wise, not too bad. we were watching one possible injury crash. southbound 880 approaching high street looks like

it all led to a security scare at oakland international airport. as mark sayre tells us, the fbi is taking it serious. >> reporter: they are in charge of the investigation and alameda county sheriff's deputies say there is no question that what they found is potentially very dangerous. the incident occurred here at the terminal 2 security checkpoint at the oakland international airport. authorities say 49-year-old jeffrey mcgann a 49-year-old resident of rancho palos verdes was trying to board a home to l.a.x. when attempted to pass through the security checkpoint with a suspicious watch. >> the watch had on it a toggle switch, a series of fuses, series of wires protruding from it, a circuit board, and the watch itself, which was on incorrect time. >> reporter: it wasn't just the watch that drew the attention of authorities. it was also mcgann's overall behavior and an unusual alteration to his boots. >> they also had what appeared to be a homemade cavity in there. and he was very evasive on everything that he was doing. >> reporter: while no actua

police say he is the head of a very violent east oakland gang. investigators linked him to countless armed robberies and shootings in oakland and surrounding cities. >> we could say without a doubt that there are murders that can be attributed to mr. flenaugh. >> reporter: they say his gang also had a number of shootouts with rival gangs in east oakland. >> one of the retaliatory shootings mr. flenaugh's wife was shot eight times while she sat in front of the school picking up her children after school in broad daylight. >> reporter: the shootings happened more than a month ago. his wife survived her injuries. but that was another example of how dangerous these people are. police said the shooter opened fire in front of kids and parents. that's why police are glad flenaugh is now in custody. >> we're hoping that his arrest can kind of squash some of the ongoing retaliatory issues that are happening. >> reporter: in oakland, i'm da lin, cbs 5. >>> a cutting torch is blamed for igniting an oil platform explosion in the gulf of mexico. this happened

are continuing their 24 demonstration phase one started last night at oakland airport. as amy hollyfield tells us, phase two is getting underway what is going on? >> reporter: good morning. look behind me in opens at 6:00, it is blocked, there are 30, 40 people, union workers blocking this berth scheduled to open now now you can see the line of trucks, all the truck drivers trying to get into the bertm lined up at to either deliver the goods or pick up, the -- guy in front says he's trying to pick up an empty container, they are sitting here they can't get in. these workers are represented by the clerical and us towed y'all work stories the port they hope the teamsters and other -- unions will join them and won't cross their picket line. they are upset with the port wanting them to contribute more to their retirement. this strike will block independent contractors who will lose money if they can't deliver or pick up goods. workers tell me they realize that but feel this is worth it. >> i feel bad about that but i need to fight for my rights, i've been working here a lon

we are seeing some of that in oakland. most of that moisture has been concentrated in the north bay where some spots have a third of an inch of rain of the precipitation now, some heavy drizzle into oakland right now. also along the coastline into daly city. some of that moisture moving onshore. the main cold front isn't even here yet. that's not going to get here until this afternoon. so we are seeing very moist atmosphere outside right now looking toward russian hill and golden gate lost in the distance in the clouds and seeing that heavy drizzle. so the roads slick, damp outside this morning. showers picking up in the afternoon and rain as we head throughout the night as the cold front finally moves onshore. it is still hung up in northern california. that will be dropping in later on. you will need the umbrella today. looks like the computer models picking up on the moisture sliding through but the cold front to the north working its way to the south and then throughout the nighttime hours, that will be picking up. so

a shoot mg oakland last night killed an 18-year-old man. witnesses say the shots rang out when a car pulled up next to the victim's vehicle, just after 7:00 p.m. they say the gunman fired several rounds into the vehicle. the oakland tribune reports that victim was sitting in his car, parked outside of his own home when he was shot. so far police have not made any arrests. >>> san josi police say a man suspected of killing his wife yesterday was found dead today. authorities say 50-year-old troy edward nosenzo was found dead inside his car this afternoon on highway 129 west of highway 101. they say it appears he intentionally overdose sleeping pills. nosenzo was suspected of killing his wife yesterday. the wife's name was not released. that killing was san josi's 41st homicide this year. >>> a boisterous group of protesters marched to oakland police headquarters demanding an end to what they describe as police violence. as ktvu's john sasaki tells us that the marchers included union members that are threaten strong action if it their calls a
