fox 5s sports director scott smith has more. >> reporter: five hours in surgery and not just one but two ligaments needed fixing and dr. james andrews repaired the lcl that was sprained since early december and performed a reconstruction of the acl. the second time in three years that that right acl has been reconstructed and that is anywhere from 6 to 9 months. according to a report, mike shanahan reviewed the game tape and believes the injury took place on this play in the fourth quarter and that is the play before on that snap. dr. ben schaeffer lends his insight to the recovery times. >> and the significant injury when you have to revise an acl and it's probably longer than a primary one and you add to that and that is adding further to it and my prediction, this is a 9-month recovery time table. having said, that that is clear in the nfl that athletes, and it's true in other leagues, get better and better as they accumulate more experience on the field and he's going to be best in the second season after returning and i would expect him to return based on what i have heard from

scott smith is here with the details. >> it's clear the world of social media made athletes accessible, the same is not said for the person on the other end. redskins director, phillip daniels, was made aware of an imposter striking up conversations with at least four redskins players. daniels posted a memo in the locker room warning the players to stay clear. according to a recent article, her name was sidney akerman. however, she was using pictures of an adult entertainer. the players would engage in conversations, mostly through direct messaging and face to face meetings were arranged, but never happened. the fake twitter and facebook accounts have been removed. according to that article, the person was in fact a woman, a die hard redskins fan. she never asked for money or attempted to exploit the players. unlike te'o, daniels said he believes it was all about receiving attention from the players. it's a problem that is likely more common than you think. the one players will have to adjust to in terms of how to respond through twitter and facebook. >> scott, thank you. >>> big game

i'm jon scott in for shepard smith. house speaker john boehner hangs on to his gavel and a new congress gets to work after a wild ending to the last congress. the speaker was facing opposition from some of his fellow republicans over the fiscal cliff deal and for scrapping a vote on aid for victims of super storm sandy. at one point today more than two dozen house republicans said they might not vote to reelect him as speaker. that could have been enough to force a second ballot for the first time since 1923. speaker boehner survived the first round of voting. >> the honorable john boehner from the state of ohio having received the majority of the votes cast is duly elected speaker of the house of representatives for the 113th congress. i'm jon scott in for shepard smith. republican lawmakers are now promising a vote on aid for victims of super storm sandy by january 15th. the senate has already passed a 6 billion-dollar relief bill and the has was set to vote on a smaller version. john boehner cancelled that vote. darrell issa said the speaker had no choice because of what new york lawmakers did. >> your two senators packed this with pork, had the opportunity to have a 27 to 30 billion-dollar legitimate relief package, packed it with pork and then dared us not to vote on it. >> republicans including new jersey governor chris christie and new york com peter king denied that pork accusation. but the debate is pretty much mood now. because since a new congress begins tomorrow. members will have to write a new bill from scratch delaying aid to all those still struggling to recover. this morning lawmakers from new york and new jersey blasted leaders for allowing that to happen. >> it is the most disgraceful action i have seen in this house in the 20 years
