. >> teenager, i'm dan ashley. >> the victim of that crime, a paramedic, shot in the head has died. the 34-year-old works in santa clara county passed away late today. he was shot twice while in his car on keller avenue tuesday just before noon. investigators believe he tried to drive off but crashed into a ravine. the killer remains on the loose tonight. investigators don't know what led to the shooting. they wanted to interview him when his condition improved. and now, they cannot. his employer issued a statement that says, quote, our hearts are heavy with emotion. quinn was very well liked by colleagues and was very dedicated in his role as a paramedic. he will be greatly missed. now, keep in mind these are the same paramedic who's worked with brian stow, the fan beaten two years ago outside dodger stadium. >> oakland police chief today admitted his officers made a mistake when they shot a teenager last night. officers chasing burglars outside of a restaurant but ended up shooting a teen a block away. they say matched the suspect description. abc 7 news nick smith is live tonight
