what was heather's story? >> right. heather's story is she was actually given a choice. she was given a choice. hey, do you want your leg amputated below the knee or do you want to keep that lower leg and your foot? and it seems like a difficult decision in many ways but doctors tell us that really it isn't. the reason why is that doctors kind of steer patients toward amputation, that keeping the foot, yeah, you're keeping your foot but it's mangled. you aren't going to walk very well. you'll cause hip problems, have a lot of pain. so after talking to doctors she decided to amputate because she didn't just talk to doctors. she told us in the press conference she spoke to other people, accident victims, for example, who did keep the leg and who regretted it, said they were in pain. >> incredible. elizabeth cohen, thank you so much. and we're here in boston getting new information including new information on how exactly these two suspects detonated the bomb a week ago monday just a block away from me on boyleston street. deborah feyerick has that information and will shar

not long after that visit, heather faced a decision. it's a decision that's hard to imagine, whether or not to keep her injured foot. we talked earlier today. can you tell me about what you remember from that day? >> yeah. that day, i came up to boston with a group of friends to watch the red sox game, and then go watch the runners close to the finish line at a bar called forum. i remember getting -- when we got to the bar, they were standing at the door taken people's i.d.s. my two girls were in front of me. i was the last one in line. my friends were already inside the bar. and we heard, you know, a loud noise. everybody, i think all of us turned around. i know i saw a lot of smoke. i saw people crying and running, and i immediately thought i was at some sort of terrorist attack. >> that was your initial thought? >> it was. because it reminded me of something i saw on the september 11th events. so before i could even think of what to do, the second blast happened and i found myself catapulted into the bar on the ground. >> so it actua

heather higgins, you want to weigh in? >> yeah, on the h -- we go from 65,000 to 110. >> still too chintzy. >> not enough. i think the inclination is to have -- when you look at a bill that's architecture, essentially a deal between big unions, big labor and big business, blessed by big government, some of us are inclined to be inherently suspicious of it. but by and large, this is directionally right in terms of economic growth. and i think if you're a small businessman, you're actually probably pretty happy about this. because particularly friends of mine who are contractors, they want immigration reform, because they're tired of competing with people who are operating on a cash economy basis. entirely under the table who don't have to do the same licensing -- >> why aren't they hiring these 20 million people? >> because they're not -- >> the wages have been driven down so low, and so many of these positions that it's very difficult to get some people to pull in. nonetheless -- >> that is not the case. >> every time the
