not quite as hot, but still bone dry, low humidity and gusty winds will make it very difficult for a firefighter to contain the blazes. now the severe weather threat, we have a cluster of thunderstorms that will roll through the quad cities and chicago this morning. then i believe there will be another round of storms as we go throughout the afternoon. that one could be strong. with the possibility of tornadoes. the area of red is a moderate risk of storms. then the storms throughout the evening and overnight will roll through the ohio valley to the mid-atlantic region, so a large area of concern. and as we go into thursday as the storm heads east, we'll have another threat of severe weather, much of the eastern seaboard, but specifically a chance of additional tornadoes from philadelphia to d.c. right through the very populated sections there of the mid-atlantic and chesapeake area. so again today the biggest threat will be tornadoes near the chicago area, overnight wind damage, and then more tornadoes and wind damage possible in the mid-atlantic. so it will be a 48 hour period here
