this is inbound pennsylvania avenue which has reopened. outbound penn avenue heading in the eastbound direction still closed and this is the reason why. take a look at all of the damage here. this is frager's hardware store or at least what's left of it. we've got some new video to show you as well. just a little while ago they once again were hitting hot spots spraying water through a window up on the second floor of the building because they had another flare-up here this morning. this hardware store was just jam packed full of stuff. a lot of it combustible. a very difficult fire to put out. they still don't know what caused it. fortunately no major injuries. two firefighters had minor injuries but nothing beyond that. that's good news here. investigators will be returning here this morning trying to figure out exactly what started this blaze. they still don't know. not as of yet. as far as these road closures, pennsylvania avenue will be closed for quite some time in the outbound, eastbound direction, good news here is that for commute

we're tracking a line into southern pennsylvania. right now it's kind of just staying out of maryland but we'll watch it very closely and let you know if you can expect a quick shower or not. overall the majority of the day will be dry. but a nice little peek of orange there, the sun's been coming up. 74 is our temperature already this morning. so, yeah, definitely short sleeves and shorts kind of a day. 69 at dulles, 64 in gaithersburg, 68 in winchester, 72 degrees in culpeper right now. yesterday we made it up to 87 so as we take a look at the almanac, average high, 85 degrees, we did beat that yesterday, i thought it felt like summer. we have a rainfall surplus, .50-inch. don't really need any of the rain but we'll get a little bit today. a frontal zone to our north, the next couple of days, and chances of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the forecast for the middle of the week. futurecast showing it just very -- very isolated this afternoon, i think we'll dry things up overnight tonight and then a better chance of a few show

we have seen a couple of pop-up storms across the area, northern virginia and southeastern pennsylvania toward the newcastle, delaware area. we think the pattern will quiet down. could see morning rain, precipitation off or. some of that could influence you toward easton, rain there in the morning possible. pop-up storms tomorrow afternoon. realize this is heat driven with the front trying to push in, which is right here in southern ohio and central pa. as that edges further south, they could flare up over central maryland, about a 40%, 50% chance. otherwise, temperatures warm and steamy again tomorrow. i don't think we'll see a lot of change in the numbers until beyond wednesday when we see drier air funnel it. it may not feel that much cooler but the drop in the humidity is what you'll notice and up and down the east coast. now with the main weather set to roll in tomorrow afternoon we'll slowly clear through the day on wednesday. a slow moving frontal boundary with dry air socked. now in the great lakes back in the northern planes, the drier air will funnel in with the slow moving bo
