i'm dan ashley. >> we're live at san francisco city hall where the wedding is about to take place. sergio? >> yes, they were waiting outside of the front doors of the county clerk's office. this announcement just issued a few minutes ago. you may remember, wednesday, the supreme court decided that the plaintiffs in proposition 8, the people defending proposition 8 did not have stand asking so, what they do is they threw out the 9thth circuit court of appeals decision, it was anticipated to take several days to lift their stay except that it took only two days. that, as mentioned is just released on about 3:00 or so. and what that means is that it reverts back to the decision judge vaughn walker made at the end of the trial. he called proposition 8 unconstitutional. and that now lift as built for county clerks to start issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. now, as far as the couple that's filed this lawsuit one couple is inside city hall right now, they were waiting outside of the front doors as mentioned to get their marriage license. they're going to go in, get that licen

here in san francisco city hall. sister cities i am absolutely delighted that we are sister cities. and particularly since we are not blood relations, as it were, seems the pleasure gained from having children, one another and is really what gives a relationship weight. what i find particularly pleasing is that in this relationship that we have chosen to enter into, the distance between us is having a positive effect. if there is a sense of competition, then it is one that is driving business. what i also find particularly attractive is that those who have chosen one another demand proof of love, as it were. and there is more family networks stretching over it that makes the relationship a matter of course. instead, we reflect one another's common grounds, we assure one another and we strengthen each other by consistently renewing our relationship. providing proof of love is easily done in san francisco. i like courting and to be courted, and more importantly this is something that helps us make progress. we are here

the control's office in the city of san francisco released a report that he lights the san francisco residents about public services that they experience. this includes our public schools. i would like to take a moment to highlight the key insights from this report which i think are very good barometers about how the public is perceiving our public schools. >> the percentage of respondents with school aged children attending schools have increased in the past five years from 66 percent to 71 percent. we find that many of our colleagues and school districts across the nation are experiencing decreasing enrollment are having increasing. the percentage that rates it as excellent, have increased by 8 percent in the past two years from 18 to 26 percent, the percentage of respondents at schools are good or excellent and increased in the last two years from 66 to 74 percent and the percentage that rated our schools as average or poor has decreased by 8 percent in the past two years. from 34 to 26 percent and the percentage of respondents with young children indicating an intention to move o

sergio was at the ceremony and joins us now live from san francisco city hall. sergio? >> carolyn, tonight san francisco city hall is lit up in rainbow colors and crews are outside setting up for gay pride weekend. city hall was bustling and the first couple that exchanged vows following that surprise court announcement was the bay area couple who took this case all the way to the supreme court. >> i you -- i now declare you spouses for life. >> this is a moment chris perry and sandy and their four sons were waiting pour. it took nine years and a supreme court decision to get here. they are the first same sex couple to marry in california since the supreme court invalidated proposition 8. they were at the county clerk's office within minutes after the 9th circuit court of appeals lifted a stay in this case. it was a surprise for everyone. >> did you think they were going to lift the order so quickly? >> no, not the a aw. we went to work this morning. >> the only one of their four sons to be at the ceremony was there because it happened so fast. in the moments after toda
