city college is a staple of education within the city. we don't only want to see city college saved. we want to see city college improved. we want to see city college addressing some of the historic issues of racial inequity, the achievement gap for students of color, especially african-american students, the amount of time that it takes students to graduate when they get into city college. so, we were really would like to see you take leadership in bringing the community together to build more support around saving city college, while most definitely including the fact we need to strive to improve the situations at city college that aren't working for students to make them successful. there's a lot of pressure to have a narrative that doesn't include equity and i want to most definitely make sure that as we continue to speak about this that we talk about equity. we put students at the center of the conversation and really make sure that it's guided by what's going to make sure students get the most out of their education at city college.

sister cities i am absolutely delighted that we are sister cities. and particularly since we are not blood relations, as it were, seems the pleasure gained from having children, one another and is really what gives a relationship weight. what i find particularly pleasing is that in this relationship that we have chosen to enter into, the distance between us is having a positive effect. if there is a sense of competition, then it is one that is driving business. what i also find particularly attractive is that those who have chosen one another demand proof of love, as it were. and there is more family networks stretching over it that makes the relationship a matter of course. instead, we reflect one another's common grounds, we assure one another and we strengthen each other by consistently renewing our relationship. providing proof of love is easily done in san francisco. i like courting and to be courted, and more importantly this is something that helps us make progress. we are here to work on behave of our cities to establish with you a network of

i think this city is a wealthy city. we spend a lot of money on social services in our city, but why are these social services not impacting people's lives in the way that it's changing people's lives for the better? so, i want to make sure that we work with residents and we work to help them grow within public housing and to not be priced out of the city as a result. i think that's one of the big issues. the other issue is connecting people to job opportunities, long-term employment, stable employment, employment that gives people dignity, that gives them pride. i mean, everyone wants to take care of their family. and sadly, people are sometimes pushed into a life of crime because that's the easy route to obtaining money. i mean, it was really easy for me as a kid to choose to sell drugs because everyone around me was selling drugs. wasn't easy for me to get a job because i didn't have a lot of examples of people working other than my grandmother who was working as a maid, or other folks i saw working at the grocery sto

us some analytics on how people move around cities and how vehicles drive around cities. so, currently we have 16 neighborhoods -- 18 neighborhoods covered in san francisco, and we get real-time data back that shows exactly how many people go by some of the busiest areas in san francisco. so, you can see here san francisco, on average total, i think we had 150 people cross our sensors on average for every sensor. in case you want to go into time density. so, we end up getting these really, really great visualizations of the busiest times and the least busiest times of people moving around san francisco. you want to go down into union square? you can see the data changes dramatically when we change the neighborhood. and just illustrates how different every neighborhood in san francisco really is. we're announcing today that we're providing some of this data to the city as a kind of public service to help the citizens here figure out how many people walk around their neighborhood. but mostly it's to help public service, like the fire department, the police department, the m
