westbound 580 approaching north flynn. and as you can see, we have a good long line of brake lights coming behind it. it's slow from 205 out of tracy continuing. once you get past the north flynn exit, then we see speeds improve dramatically but the drive time is up to 15 minutes. that's a good delay, 15 minutes between the altamont pass and the dublin interchange. our other slower spot is the bay bridge toll plaza. it looks like more commuters this morning at this time are trying to get a head start beat the gridlock we saw yesterday. so the delays are longer than yesterday at this time of the morning. just in those cash lanes. the fastrak users the typical commuters who do this every morning, they know the drill and they are getting by okay. the folks that maybe usually use bart are getting stuck in the minor backups for now. but unfortunately, the delays are growing. they have not turned the metering lights on yet. let's get a look at the san mateo bridge. it's a great alternate if the bay bridge gets busy. lawrence has

so give yourself extra time towards north flynn and the rest of the livermore valley. the worst commutes yesterday the bay bridge definitely a hotspot as well as a lot of commutes getting there in the east bay, 24, 880, east east, all of these parallel bart lines, we expect these to be the real problem spots. some people were waiting in commutes an hour plus so you don't want to get in that. consider using a carpool. find a friend, stranger, those carpool lanes were hardly used at all especially towards the bay bridge. muni offering their extra service. caltrain going to try to step up service as much as they can but already they are pretty much at capacity. ac transit is offering extra transbay buses between east bay and san francisco. the ferries another great option with very long lines. golden gate ferry offering the regular service. they are at capacity as well but out of alameda and vallejo you will find extra boats. samtrans stepping things up, as well. outside, here's a live look at the nimitz. 880 in oakland, caltrans let us know they actually picked up their

fox's phil flynn from the price futures group in the cme. natural gas has entered into bear market territory, hasn't it, phil? >> it has and the weather is the main reason. when you talk about temperatures in the record lows for the midwest this time of year, it feels like it is shoulder season, the season where there is no demand. without the hot temperatures there is not a lot to drive demand for this market. remember too at the end of last week we built in a hurricane premium so to speak or tropical storm premium with dorian over the weekend. because dorian dissipated over the weekend, they had to cover. you get aing per reaction to the downside normally than you get. you saw the story about all the natural gas we're producing and wasting every day. the producers are producing natural gas to get to oil. they're wasting gas because demand and pipeline capacity is just not there. tracy: oil holding steady but you have the saudi prince alwaleed bin talal is issuing a warning. this is kind of cool because we're making him nervous, aren't we?

phil flynn from the cme. thank you, bill. >> thank you. dennis: what would you do if gm destroyed a third of its cars. imagine they destroyed a third of their production. oil drillers and north dakota are burning a third of the natural gas that they drill. >> this is really controversial. this is a practice called flaring. the u.s. is now ranked in the top ten of the world players along with russia, nigeria and iraq. you are ruining the environment. it is getting so bad that you can see the flaring that is going on in north dakota from outer space. you can see to the upper left of the scene what is going on. compare it to minneapolis which has the lowest jobless rate in the country. the net gas industry is saying we do not have enough pipelines to reach these remote locations. we have got an environmentalist saying there is a lot of shareholder value going up in flames. our oil production is 2.2 billion a month. we can burn 100 billion a month. you cannot store it in tanks. you have to ship it immediately. this is, they are doing the math.

phil flynn of price futures group and a fox business news contributor is here this morning.. phil-- have we seen a top yet in those gas prices? > >i think we're getting close but i don't think the pain is over. believe it or no, despite that sharp 15 cent jump we saw at the pump wholesalers weren't able to pass on all the costs that they've seen---that they paid. and believe it or not there was panic buying at the end of last week and because of that sharp spike up we'll probably see those prices go up more at the pump maybe another 5 to 10 cents. but after that we're already seeing signs those prices could come back down as refiners start to come back online and demand starts to dwindle. > >what's the driver behind the price moves? > >i think in gasoline, it's a combination of what's going on in the middle east on top of the fact that we've had all these refining issues and strong demand. despite the fact that refiners were producing almost the most gas they have in history the supplies fell because demand in the united states was on the rise and we're exporting more gasolin

phil flynn standing by in the pits of the cme. the most expensive summer in five years. >> it is very depressing. it has all happened in the last couple weeks. we saw three weeks of inventory where we lost 27 million barrels of crude. that is almost unheard-of unless we have a hurricane or something. demand for gasoline. not only here in the united states. the u.s. is exporting more gasoline than we ever have before. it just turned out to be the perfect storm of bad news for drivers. we are seeing a little relief on the wholesale price today. rbob futures are down $2.82 today. if they hold up, we should see some relief at the pump. not right away, but -- cheryl: what about ethanol? the ethanol blend piece to the puzzle? that is a government issue. >> that is. it is bad regulation. it is one of the reasons why exporters are not sending gasoline down to the midwest where we need it desperately. it is unbelievable. because of the lack of ability of the refiners to buy enough renewable identification credit, they are better off to exp
