. >> what about the whole acquisition that mike bloomberg has run a nanny state? you've proposed nutritional guidelines for chain restaurants. are you in the bloomberg mode as far as other kinds of health issues, big gulps and other regulations and laws? >> i'm very proud of the record i have on public health issues. i was actually health committee chair before i was speaker and in that role i led the effort to pass the antismoking legislation in this city and i think that law is a big part of why new yorkers are now living longer. so i'm going to do everything i can to try to promote good public health in new york and dealing with obesity is one of our biggest health challenges. we're going to do that by giving folks more information, by making restaurants be honest about the food they're serving our children. that's what the children meal initiative is about. but we're also going to expand access to healthy quality food in neighborhoods all across the city and i've already done that as speaker. we've expanded green markets and green vendors in low-income neighbo

trying to figure out who shot and killed a beloved pet nanny in the east bay. she was driving near her home and someone opened fire. standing by in oakland right now, tell us what we know about the victim and what happened during that attack. brian? >> reporter: well, dave, the police do say there are a couple of things that may aid in their investigation but it will take time to process on that and in the meantime though, as you can see, some people have flowers and candles here as residents and family members shocked at what happened. neighbors identified the victim as the 66-year-old judy solomon. neighbors say she was well known if the neighborhood. constantly seen walking around here as the dog sitter. just before 1:30 yesterday afternoon. she was in her gray subaru just a few blocks from her home when somebody opened fire. solomon's car was hit and then rolled backwards hitting another parked car. nobody was injured and no other houses or cars were hit. as reported, solomon lived alone with pets and well-liked in the neighborhood. one man came by the memo
