ulrich and patricia wah-lee had permits to hike the waves, which is a popular hiking site in southern utah. the temperature exceeded a hundred degrees, and officials there say it may be the reason why both died. the path is only three miles, but it's not marked and considered extremely challenging. ulrich wahli was a retired i-b-m systems engineer, working for the company for 40 years before taking a job at the company's offices in switzerland. he was 70 years old. his wife was 69. a man was struck and killed on the caltrain tracks between the menlo park and atherton stations this morning. this is video of the train that hit the man. according to a spokesperson, a northbound train was passing through the atherton station at about 7:15 this morning when the pedestrian was hit. the train does not stop at the atherton station on weekdays. train service was stopped in both directions after the fatality. but it finally resumed at about 8:30. officials have not identified the pedestrian. >> your full forecast, [ man ] we have a go for auto sequence start. t-minus 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... ignition.

wah-hah-hah! stopping at nothing to help you save. gregg: well, another black eye for the internal revenue service after it mistakenly posts the social security numbers of tens of thousands of americans on a government web site. no kidding. steve centanni is live in washington with more. so, steve, how did this mistake happen, and, in fact, how did we find out about it? >> reporter: well, gregg, the irs requires nonprofit political groups to make financial disclosures, and that information is posted for the public to see. now, the problem is some social security numbers were not redacted or removed from those forms before they went up on the irs web site. the watchdog group publicresource.org discovered the mistake and alerted the irs. social security numbers were publicly displayed for less than 24 hours, but by then the damage was done. in a statement public resource said in part: while the posting of this database serves a vital public service and this database must be restored as quickly as possible, the failure to remove individu
