i mean, lindsey graham for one says you're in a downward demographic death spiral unless you figure out some way to reform immigration. what do you think the republicans ought to do on that? >> look, i disagree we should approach this issue based on what's right for us politically. we should approach this issue on what we think is the right thing to do, what's the right policy. speaking to that, we are not going tyke up the senate bill in the house because we don't support the senate bill. we have been listening to the american people. what we're going to do is take a step-by-step approach to get immigration right, not a big massive bill but separate bills so people know what's in these bills. number one, bob-- and just look at this terror threat we have-- we don't have control of our border. we don't know who is coming and going in this country. we need real border enforcements and that means we really don't trust the administration with discretion in this area. we need a border enforcement law. we need interior enforcement and we need to fix our legal immigration system. right now peo

as lindsey graham fears, he's put out the worst-case scenario. what are you seeing with oil prices? >> what has to happen first is an actual disruption of the flow through the suez canal and the pipeline, the key pipeline in that area. that has not occurred. in fact, the egyptian army has said they'll protect these key points because they know the economic significance of these passageways. keep in mind we're talking about 3 million barrels per day of crude oil and refined fuels as well as about 7% of sea born oil that goes through the canal on a daily basis. this is an extremely important choke point, as a lot of traders call it, in this area. but the fact remains there has not been any disruption. what we're seeing right now in terms of the price of oil that's near $107 a barrel here in the u.s. and the global benchmark price is closer to $110 a barrel, that's being raised because we're actually seeing is up police disruptions elsewhere in the middle east. we're seeing them in libya. in fact, the supplies coming out of that country are down to 2011 levels. that's what's having mor

i'm not sure south carolina senator lindsey graham would call himself a republican but he is facing a big challenge. a fellow republican said she has had it with business as usual republicans so is challenging one of the senate's biggest republicans. the first woman to graduate from the citadel. giving lindsey hell. we did reach out to senator graham who is traveling so hopefully he will soon be here himself, but going upstream to challenge the mainstream, you're not the first obviously. this is a big trend now among a does republicans who are facing in one way shape or form intraparty challenges. what's going on here? >> well, thank you, neil, for having me on your program this afternoon. this weekend i made the announcement i would run for the united states senate in series and my home town, and i was honored do it there. the decision to run for the united states senate is a big one. it's serious business. but what i have done over the last couple of weeks and months is talk to people across south carolina. and i've heard from people around the country. about their frustrations. and

how is the visit by senators john mccain and lindsey graham being received? >> reporter: like a lead balloon. it was not well received by the government. on the front page of many newspapers today, it said the united states should effectively butt out. that this is an intervention into egyptian affairs. the government took it as a threat, almost, that john mccain and lindsey graham came here and started talking about a coup. this is the government, i say the government, the one that is backed by the military, that threw out the government of the muslim brotherhood candidate, the muslim brotherhood president, mohamed morsi. the president also didn't appreciate the visit. they said a similar line, that this was intervention into egyptian politics and the brotherhood is frustrated as is the egyptian government because they're getting mixed messages from the united states. first we had secretary of state john kerry saying it wasn't a coup. the military intervened to carry out the will of the people. then you have another envoy, john kerry, saying it is a coup. so
