it follows the deadly limo fire on the san mateo bridge back inle may that killed five women. the bill is said to be heard today. the proposed legislation would require limousines to have two fire extinguishers and yearly inspections by the highway patrol. with a lot of people set to hit the road, law enforcement agencies are preparing to crack down on drivers. the focus this year mainly on drunk drivers. officers from the chp and other local agencies will hit the roads starting at 6:00 tonight. last year, the chp says 35 people were killed during the labor day holiday. there were more than 1300 dui arrests statewide. the san francisco labor council held its preannual labor day breakfast. mayor lee spoke to what he called the investment of the men and women of labor have made to the innovation capital. world. >> no matter what the challenge is, your talent is always about innovating through solutions and when we as local government work with labor and with business we can accomplish a lot. >> the breakfast was attended by several labor leaders and also local and state official
