we have a low pressure area that's spinning up in the south china sea. this will bring rain showers across this area here. working into vietnam, that's where the bulk of the showers will be with this storm system. luzon will get in on this as well. into the 30s across much of the tropics. out towards hong kong, 32. taipei at 32. then into the 20s once we look farther north. let's look toward the americas. well, what we are seeing is two areas of interest. we have this storm system pushing across the dakotas into the midwest, bringing severe weather. also heavy rain showers into the southwest, around the four corners region, even towards northern mexico. you've already seen heavy rainfall. reports of flooding across this area. this is still going to be occurring. we have the moisture coming in from remnants of tropical storm lorena. you could see about 100 millimeters of rainfall throughout your work week in many areas here. remember, this is desert in many areas out here. so it's very dry soil. you get that amount of rain, it's going to cause some flash

we have a new tropical depression starting to form in the south china sea and all of the infwreed yents are in place right here for the possibility of this developing into something bigger. we definitely want to keep a close eye on it, but the big topic is we have been seeing this continued monsoon flow and that has been bringing some devastating floods down here, deadly landslides, as well and this could make that situation worse, so definitely want to continue to keep an eye on this and even if it's not named it will bring the heavy rainfall with it. for the temperatures across, they're in the 30s and shanghai at 25 and seoul on thursday. let's take a look at the americas and what's going on in the pacific northwest. we have a low pressure area. some severe thunderstorms in the northern plains and behind it into the rockies we'll be seeing snowfall at 30 centimeters at some of the higher elevations is very well possible there. high pressure dominating much of the great lakes region and it will create fair weather and you could be seeing fog out there and that will burn town big time.

china sea. an estimated 61,000 fishing vessels heeded typhoon warnings. these are vessels from both vietnam and china, that went back into port ahead of the storm. authorities have also evacuated thousands of people in vietnam from low-lying areas. and regions prone to landslides. this typhoon wutip is the strongest storm to hit vietnam since 2006. so that was the situation earlier on. it is no longer a typhoon. we now have a severe tropical storm. that's what happens after making landfall. we see the system start to downgrade, start to dissipate and lose their strength. if we take a look at the winds here, you can see it's still a strong, potent system. winds at 108 kilometers. it hasn't really come down by very much. but it will continue to weaken off over the next couple of days. as it does so, though, that doesn't mean the rain dries up, unfortunately, as the winds start to subside. we can still see very heavy rain. you're going to be seeing at least 250 millimeters, anywhere in the red, jus

china sea. it is already affecting much of the surrounding countries with stormy conditions, packing winds of 180 kilometers per how. its name is butterfly in chinese, making it toward central vietnam, possibly making landfall around afternoon hours local time. not only is it going to be bringing gusty conditions, storm surges and the high waves around the coastal regions here, but also dropping heavy amounts of downpour not only in the eastern side but also the western seaboards of indochina peninsula as well. thailand already has seen about 100 millimeters of rainfall in the past 24 hours in localized areas so the land is well saturated, the soil is very loose. any additional amounts could trigger flooding, landslides, as well as mudslides. any additional amounts could top as much as 100 millimeters across these areas with the storm surging all the moisture and enhancing the southwestern monsoonal flow, not very good news. we'll keep a close eye on this one as well as a couple of other storm s

china seas, and we are seeing the showers continue to pulse their way across a similar area for day after day now. some of these part have been seeing around 200 millimeters of rain over the last 24 hours. the showers continue through thursday then. if anything they may even pack up a touch as we go through friday. so more wet weather and the flood will certainly be exacerbated. this area of cloud has been producing some very heavy rain, again, for the last few days. that has washed away roads and bridges. many villages have been cut off by the heavy downpours. and again, there's more rain where that came from. this area of low-pressure continues to roll away. further showers there as we go through thursday then. and a similar picture as we go through friday. more very heavy showers across the area. and we have got the showers continuing for a good part of the western gaps. we'll see showers effecting the eastern gaps, and into bangladesh. the south of that is looking fine, and we have got some sunshine in our forecast. as one would expect a fair amount of sunshine across northern p
