the lpa right now includes a new station at vallejo street in the southbound direction and this is put in in part due to some concerns from the community about a gap in stations really looking at a steep grade particularly between broadway and pacific. it's the only remaining double level turn which means that the existing stop at broadway would have to be removed to allow enough right away for that stop so we were able to work with mpa to find a stop in the southbound direction, which has more ridership than the northbound direction currently. we have cleared a northbound variant which would allow inclusion of that but it's not part of it as of today. these are the proposed actions in front of you. first is the certification of the eir pursuant to seqa. have we disclosed the appropriate impacts and mitigations? the second is the [inaudible] summarizing this process and the findings within that document. approval of statement of overriding consideration so this is where we have significant and unavoidable impacts you would be approving a statement of override to implement the project.

police say violence in vallejo is on the rise. ktvu's alex savage talked to police about what happened last night and more of what's going on in vallejo. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. i just spoke with the lieutenant from the vallejo police department not long ago. he tells me definitely this teenager was targeted in this  shooting last night. but at this point investigators aren't saying exactly why they believe he was targeted. this 18-year-old shot to death inside an apartment complex that's not far from where he livers. the killing happened just after 7:00 last night at an apartment complex on the 1300 block of santa clara street. according to one report, neighbors heard more than a dozen gunshots. police will only say multiple shots were fired. police say the victim was shot in the neck and then ran to a nearby unit where he collapsed right outside of someone's doorway. the young man died there at the scene and this morning police aren't releasing his identity. but police tell me they have talked to some witnesse

>>james: 1 elementary school in vallejo is having trouble with bats. but the school district is keeping glen cove elementary school open. many parents,faculty members and area residents are worried about droppings from inside the roof making their way into the building or the venilation system. the school district tells us they have brought in a professional company and found that those in the building are not at risk. the school was told they can't move or exterminate the bats because there are babies that are protected by law. the school plans on putting nets over these openings next month after the bats migrate away for the season. but some feel that there should be a thorough cleaning for the entire school. unbelievable. shhhhh! in our day, we didn't have u-verse high speed internet. yeah, our babysitter didn't have a million ways to serve mom up on a silver platter. we had to count sheep to fall asleep. and i always worried that i was creating an overcrowded sheep farm. in my head... never looked like that farmer took proper care of those sheep. t
