the football world is intugz tonight about what legendary quarterback brett farve is saying about his memory. favre was a fixture on sunday afternoons for two decades as one of the best of all time. he played a record 297 games in a row. and he was sacked more than 500 times. he has no idea how many concussions he has suffered. here's what favre told a washington radio station yesterday. >> i don't remember my daughter playing so, youth soccer, one summer. i don't remember that. for the first time in 44 years, that kind of put a little fear in me. >> pelley: james brown of cbs sport is the host of "nfl today" and a special correspondent for cbs news. j.b., you have been talking to current and former players. what are they telling you if this? >> that fear brett farve references is pretty accurate scribing conversations with former players who here to for have been light hearted about it but in light of recent revelations about concussions, the conversations are very sobering, especially those of wives whon their husbands the best and they've seen subtle changes and are quite concerned

. >>> one of the most successful quarterbacks to play in the nfl is suffering from memory loss, brett farve said he can't remember personal family moments now and believes the condition stems from the many concussions he suffered while playing football. >> i don't remember my daughter playing soccer, youth soccer one summer, i don't remember that, so that is a little bit scary to me. to the first time in 44 years that kind of put a little fear in me. >> well, this is not a new problem facing pro football players, in august the nfl agreed to pay sear 65 million to settle lawsuits from more than 4000 former players, they claim they suffer from neurological conditions such as dementia. >> a local biker club is launching an anti-bullying campaign in the east bay at peralta elementary school in oakland, members of the harley club are sending a message. >> i could tell people to stop and don't bully, because it doesn't feel right to that other person. >> it is not okay to bully and if you do you should notice it but if you you know someone is being bullied you should tell the person to stop

brett farve is now joining in on the concussion discussion. he says he is already feeling the effects after playing the game for half his life. >> i think after 20 years, god only knows the toll. >> reporter: nfl great and former green bay packers quarterback brett farve doing an interview thursday admitting hits like this, the last one of his career, are part of the reason he won't play again. farve was knocked out. now, the 44-year-old grandfather worries about lasting effects. >> this was a little shocking to me that i couldn't remember my daughter playing youth soccer. >> when a former quarterback comes forward and says i can't remember one of the summers where my daughter plays soccer and links that to his playing career, i think people listen. >> head injury leads to permanent problems with people. if their kid is going out and doing these things, they have very well-educated coaches. >> reporter: in august, in nfl and thousands of former players that sued the league for concussion damages reached a $765 million settlement. players claim
