a long criminal record, apparently a drifter here in ocean city. why he would have burst through the food pantry doors at this church on fire completely unknown. >> 56-year-old, john raymond of ocean city, a man with a long record of petty crimes has been identified as the person who soaked himself in flammable liquid and on fire, burst through the doors of the food pantry at the church tuesday. pastor, david died in the resulting fire. bystanders captured the scene as the wood frame church a block off the board walk went up quickly. according to church officials, stern in flames, grabbed a female church volunteer who is in critical condition. another volunteer seen from behind in this photo was slightly injured trying to put the fire out. the reverend was upstairs in the church offices, apparently trapped by the fire. the church's administrator escaped, but he died in berlin after being rescued by firefighters. shocked, the bishop remembered him today as a minister committed to serving ocean cities down and out. >> but this ministry to the people

we've got temperatures ranging anywhere from 43 degrees in oakland up to 55 degrees in ocean city with the normal with this time of the year around 58 degrees. at the airport we're sitting right at 53 degrees. locally seeing temperatures anywhere from 50 in westminster to 54 degrees in dc. winds are coming out of the south. they're going the make a shift into tomorrow. that means tuesday they will be coming out of the north. they will be associated with a cold front that's headed our way. so all eyes right now are on the northern planes and the great lakes region as this cold front makes its push down into the mid atlantic. it's going to bring cold air along with it. you can see that cold air up in the northern plains. that's headed our way. we're not going to dip down into the teens but we'll see over night lows in the 20s on tuesday and wednesday. chilly air is going to be headed right into our neighborhood. not only chilly air, we'll see a little bit of rainfall as that cold front moves through during the morning commute. on the backside of the front some snow flakes along with it.

it's south of ocean city. that's where the action is right now, toward wallace island and the eastern shore of virginia, hanging out there saying what's up with a few flurries. other than that west of garrett county, slight showers south of pittsburgh. western maryland could see hit or miss flurries. for the most part is looks completely dry. the real travel concern will be in the high terrain from garrett county south to central west virginia. down here in the spine of the appalachian. it's slick in garrett county, deep creek lake with a coating. the latest reports out of maryland's most western edge, bush, hey, they're gearing up, getting ready for the winter sports season. in baltimore a little different, just a couple of flurries. a few flakes flying. if you blink, you muscled them. the winds were whipping out toward the key bridge. they will continue to whip this evening. 38 at bwi, bone dry air, breezy conditions, cold. the breeze will come up and nothing more than a passing flurry midday, basically a sl

we have a bit of a northerly flow from ocean city back towards d. c. and then a bit of a south flow out towards hagerstown. a west wind out towards oakland. again, just a light breeze there. the eastern seaboard is warmer than our neighbors to our north and west. the air that's settling in over the region is going to come from that direction. even the next little disturbance that could bring us a chance of a shower or so is up around the great lakes. you see these 50s up and down the coast and then you get back towards the midwest. you're seeing the 40s and 30s. the front that brought us the rain yesterday morning has pushed well off to the coast. it's pushing that rain to the east and south. disturbance around the great lakes and the rain associated with that is kind of drifting into the area. we cannot rule out a fleeting shower. you see these are very -- this is a moisture star system. it could bring a sprinkle or two by mid afternoon. after that front moves on through here. cooler air settles in for the next few days. today in the mid to upper 60s.

around the state, 64 is one of the warmer spots down on the shore in ocean city. 52 in elkton, 45 in oakland, 41 up in cumberland. 52 in westminster. 51 in bel air. 57 in annapolis and kent island and 53 in columbia. winds are calm around most of the state. we have a bit of a wind from the southwest in oakland. we have a northerly component in dc, patuxent river and then you see zero readings across much of the state. we have neighbors to our north and west cooler than we are. so that northerly component is going to tap into some of that. what we'll see for the most part is a warmer -- we're in a slot where we're in a warmer air. the cooler air is settling in into wednesday or so. then we'll start to see another rise in temperatures. two things are happening. the front that brought us the rain is now associated with all that activity, and the cloud cover's pushing well off to the east and the south. another trough, a low pressure system around the great lakes is close enough it's bringing as you see a little bit of shower activity and just some light sprinkles to the region possibly
