chief meteorologist rick reichmuth is here with the latest. rick? >> this is the fifth day we have been dealing with the storm. now it's across the southeast and the east coast and tomorrow it's going to be around much of the northeast. so i expect to see some pretty significant delays in the airports in the northeast tomorrow even down some of the plant. ripple effect of the country. tonight threats florida, coastal areas of georgia and the carolinas. northern side of it where it is much colder right now and seeing the snow falling pretty heavily at times from places like buffalo, back towards cleveland, pittsburgh, have you been mostly rain. it will be all rain as cross coastal areas of at least down towards the southeast. and then in throughout the northeast. this storm is taking a much farther inland track. that means the coldest air is interior sections seeing spots maybe up to a foot of snow. 2 to 3 inches of rain falling across the coastal areas though i-9 a corridor very windy conditions along with that kimberly. so we're talking about big d

rick reichmuth where this storm is headed next. in times times square how bad ts gets for retailers. how is it looking there, rick? >> neil, nearly a worse case scenario on one of the busiest days of the year. hundreds of flights cancelled especially in the northeast. more than 4,000 flights affected. heavy delays, including up to two hour delays on incoming flights in philadelphia and roughly an hour at jfk and other new york area airports. the weather not cooperating into this evening. the winds have picked up. rain is continue iting to fall and the temperatures are plummeting. we are going to give you a look at the george washington bridge behind me here. the traffic moving from the city into new jersey, not too bad. you see the upper and lower levels of the gwb moving from new jersey into new york city towards rhode island towards the bronx and i 95 corridor connects cut and beyond where heavy rains have prompted flood warnings some areas further north and west plan cetted. foot or more. portions of west virginia pennsylvania,

let's go to rick reichmuth right now. chief meteorologist i want to ask you first what the temperatures will be at 9:00 a.m. eastern on the east coast as they are trying to make that decision about the macy's thanksgiving day parade. >> it's going to be cold. temps will be around 29 degrees at that time. the winds sustained at around 18 or 19 miles per hour. it's going to feel like 15 or 16 degrees. a very cold one. the other thing sometimes they do is just lower those balloons down and fly them very low. i guarantee you none of those balloons is going to be flying high tomorrow with the winds we are seeing. airport delays, carl was just talking about. this you see these new york city airports the delays are up to about an hour. philadelphia has been at about two hours all day. but that just dropped to around 87 minutes. that's good news. they they have had very low lousy. not as many planes off the ground. slower pace. that's where you see the backup. the storm has moved through area. temperatures plummet. looking at ter

meteorologist rick reichmuth is live in the fox extreme weather center with more. it is cold, rick. >> feels more in a lot of places like it feels in january about two months ahead of time. it is across the eastern half of the country. you're right now only 43 in dallas. all the way toward new orleans you are 48 degrees. there is warmth though. l.a., you're at 77 degrees, almost getting to 80 degrees. another freeze tonight down toward atlanta and mississippi and alabama. temps will be into the 20s and 30s. a very cold night in store. this does begin to change by tomorrow, wednesday, thursday. we start to see this big trough that we see switch directions. the wind will move out of the south finally. that will warm things up for everybody by this weekend. we'll see temperatures back into at least closer where we should be for this time of year, say into the 50s by friday. new york, mid 50s, down towards areas of the southeast. but a little bit below average. we'll see a big change in the pattern. get ready across parts of the west. a big trough moves into the weeken

rick reichmuth. >> still the delays, especially the new york city airports. most of them dealing with delays just under an hour. and as carl just mentioned, philadelphia has been over two hours for most of the day. and you're still at about 2:15 delays. any flights in or out of there, big problems. temperatures, though, are beginning to plummet behind the system. down across areas of the southeast, you're clear. but you're going to be incredibly cold. i'll show you that in a second. we've got temperatures changing, you can see that. we've got the snow now moving in across parts of the hudson river valley, in towards new jersey, in towards philadelphia. that cold air moving in behind the system. and it's going to be incredibly cold. tonight's low temperatures across the central gulf only into the mid-20s. so it's a hard freeze here. take a look at this. down towards florida, only getting to 41 tonight down in ft. myers. and across the northeast and the great lakes, these are actual air temperatures only in towards the mid teens, upper teens. it's going to be w

to fox's rick reichmuth live from our weather center. rick. >> lori, the philippines will see the rain taper off. it will be a while before we get a good idea of damage caused there. the areas hardest hit are completely cut out from communication. we're not getting in reports from them. over the next day we'll get much more scarier pictures. hopefully not but very possibly we'll see the fatality list that will grow a bit. this is the third typhoon hit the philippines this year. few weeks ago they had a hurricane, excuse me, earthquake that hit the same area. people were living outside in makeshift shelters and susceptible to this kind of a term. this 195 miles per hour would make it strongest system to make landfall on earth. the prior record was hurricane camille, 190 mile-an-hour winds in the u.s. central gulf coast. this look likes the fourth strongest storm ever seen on the planlet. made landfall at its peak intensity. that with are why i think we're going to see continued problems. the center of the storm is moving toward the south
