nbc bay area's kimberly terry live at the scene. >> police have have west cap expressway shut down for a few blocks as they continue to investigate this accident here. the call came in just after 3:00 this afternoon and police say they showed up to find a man in his 30s. he was lying on the ground bleeding. he was pronounced dead soon after. witnesses told police there way fight that occurred before the car accident after which the driver took off. >> officers responded. based on witness statements, witness accounts there was an altercation in the middle of the roadway. and that's all we have. we don't know what started it. >> police won't say whether the victim was heard during that fight or if the car accident was the thing that killed him. this is something, of course that, the coroner will be looking into. several witnesses were taken to the police department so their statements could be taken. meantime, homicide detectives are continuing to gather evidence and follow leads in this case. police say they don't know yet what the connection was between the victims and suspect with inf
