tara moriarty joins us from the san bruno station with more on this and the controversy, sarah? >> reporter: the woman -- tara? >> reporter: she said she had been talking to the man who got tasered and while it made her a little uncomfortable, at no time did she ever feel threatened this was shot by another passenger and showing them having a confrontation headed for mill bray. they thought she was being harrah assed and asked him to have some questions and when he complies he gets tasered. >> police say the man was drunk and had repeatedly ignored order orders. after 0 not complying with officers again, that is when he gets tasered again for a full 5 seconds. the man referred to as robert by police was arrested for having an outstanding warrant for a parole violation. some say the man was not doing anything wrong and should never have been tasered. they say the only time anybody gets tasered is when they have initiated the proper information. they have released this to the auditors for investigation. >>> two people were treated for injuries after an overnight fire at a high-ris

moriarty joins us live where traffic is being diverted, tara? >> reporter: we just heard they are hoping to have one of those lanes open by 6:00 and the stench of the gasoline was so strong it gives you ahead a headache and this is where folks are being directed off of the freeway. right now you cannot drive on 101 southbound passed ten, it is around 1:00 this morning and a driver was speeding hit the center divider and a driver hit the tanker truck, it ended up flipping over into a drain judge ditch. we believe his injuries were not surveillance meanwhile at least 4,000 had spilled into a ditch and that's why all of the emergency crews have not gotten into any lakes or respond nearby and we have been told 4 homes have been evacuated and they will not be allowed back into the area until the scene is completely mopped up and one person was being put up by a hope tell from the red cross. we know half of it spilled and not sure if he was cited but they will completely shut down for at least another hour and one lane will be low going so crews can u

ktvu's tara moriarty joins us live from the city with the recent spike in pedestrian deaths there. >> reporter: we're here at octavia and market streets. the most dangerous intersection in the city according to the police chief. this is where the freeway empties into the street. recently the city has seen a spike in the number of pedestrian crashes. there were 21 deaths just last year. the most since 2007. yesterday, an elderly man was struck and killed in a crosswalk on sunset and yorba. the name of the driver is 71- year-old jenny ching. the chief says his department is going to work to curb accidents through sting operations and awareness programs. >> i think the one that got everyone's april tension was on new year's eve when sophia lui was killed in the crosswalk with her mother. i think the sign that people have spoken about that's at the site, pedestrians, bicycles and cars, please slow down. >> reporter: now, chief suhr says that pedestrian crashes are up 43% for the -- [no audio] >> reporter: that person is now in critical condition. the chief says that san francisco's popula

ktvu's tara moriarty joining us live now. you are in san francisco. tell us more about the big meeting happening today, tara. >> reporter: well, it may soon costing you an extra quarter to ride any muni bus train or trolley. at 1:00 today, at city hall, as you mentioned, the transit agency is gonna be unveiling the new two-year $1.8 billion budget. that means the board may choose to raise the cost to $2.25 for a single ride this summer. one rider said she's gonna feel the pinch on her wall elt when she has to cough up each cash. >> it will cost $10. i can't afford it. i have to go to get to work -- i have to to get to work. it's less money i have, as usual. >> i guess it's a pretty good deal. another 25 cents it would be annoying. but is guess i could swing it. >> reporter: muni could face a major expense later this year. management is set to negotiate a contract with its labor union. however, muni still has its brightest budget picture in years due to the booming local economy. it's also considering using some of that money to expand the kids ride fr

ktvu's tara moriarty has been on this story since 4:30 this morning. you are back outside of the firehouse and you just heard from the chief. >> reporter: that's light. many firefighters showed up to work were on the same shift and it was very upset. most have left the station and gone to a department meeting. today was the 28-year anniversary of his career as a berkeley firefighter. as you can see, behind me me here, the flag is at half staff at station 7 where he worked. his two children are expected to come by as well as many neighbors who simply loved this firefighter. nunes was killed in a tractor accident last night around 6:30 on his ranch near the national park in unencorp rated -- unincorporated martinez. the man was killed while driving his tractor. it slid 200 feet down the canyon and rolled pinning him underneath. >> tony was the guy who made everybody laugh. i worked with him on ailments 20 some years ago. we used to laugh all of the time. speaking to his captain, i said what is one of the things that you always remember will tony? he said

tara moriarty is at the hayward police headquarters now. you have new information about the woman, what she had in her hand that may have led to this deadly confrontation. >> reporter: yeah, that would be a gun. police are behind closed doors right now. we believe that they are discussing this case. we know that they are conducting an investigation in conjunction with the alameda county district attorney's office. now, according to police, a 62- year-old woman called 911 last night in distress. she was depressed. pleasanton police asked for a before check around 67150678915 -- 7:15 last night. when the two officers arrived, they say a woman was waving a gun threateningly in her apartment on foothill boulevard. they repeatedly asked her to put it down, they didn't listen. >> when the officers arrived, there made contact with the person and subsequently a shooting occurred. >> reporter: neighbors say that they heard five gunshots and police say one officer, fearing for his life, shot the woman. she later died at the hospital. neighbors tell k

tara moriarty is live in oakland. what's going on? >> reporter: well, it seems like the problem might be getting better. we're here at the west oakland b.a.r.t. station. the last train that pulled in, it did not wait on the platform. it took off right away. the official word is that bart is on a 20-minute delay this morning. so definitely give yourself some extra time to get where you need to go today. it looks like there is an equipment problem in the transbay tube. a train being stuck and the glitch is causing systemwide delays. b.a.r.t. says it doesn't know when the problem will be completely fixed. but again, everything about 20 minutes behind schedule. we're in san francisco a little bit earlier this morning. we saw some people standing outside trying to stay dry. they had just come in on a b.a.r.t. train from the east bay in san francisco. they had missed their bus to the v.a. hospital. that bus is on a set schedule. obviously a frustrating morning for them especially because of the rain and it being so wet. people a little cran

tara moriarty is live in san francisco. how has this young girl sold dozens of girl scout cookie boxes in less than an hour. >> reporter: cookies and cannabis. she has learned how to cash in on the combination. the green cross has a facebook page and on it you can see danielle hocking her cookies. little danielle sold 117 boxes in just two hours in front of the medical marijuana store. that is 37 more boxes than she sold during the same time frame outside of a grocery store the same day. her mother helped her set up shops so she can learn about different environments and earn money too. the green cross readily agreed to the cookie stand saying quote it's no secret that cannabis is a powerful appetite stimulus. and while the girl scout of colorado says it doesn't allow its girl scouts to sell their cookies in front of marijuana shops or liquor stores san franciscans seem to love it. as for the local chapter of the girl scouts, officials sent us a statement saying that quote the decision of the mom to allow her daughter to ha
