i'm mike haines. i'm brother to david haines. david was like so many of us, just another bloke. born in 1970, to parents who loved us both, our childhood was centered around our family. holidays and caravans and tents, days away as a family, which we remember fondly. david and i were brought up to know right from wrong, although we might not with the innocence of youth, have always chosen right. david was a good brother, there when i needed him and absent when i didn't. i hope he felt the same way about me. he was in the right mood, the life and soul of the party. on other times, the most stubborn, irritating pain in the ass. he would probably say the same about me. after leaving school, he worked with the royal mail, before joining the royal air force. he married his childhood sweetheart, louise, and had a wee lass, bethany. he was, no doubt, exceptionally proud of bethany. he served with the u.n. in the balkans, helping people in real need. there's many accolades for people in that region that david helped. he helped whoever needed help, regardless of race, creed or religion.

haines was kidnaped through northern syria last year as he delivered humanitarian aid. new video looks very much like the previous video showing the execution of two american journalist, james foley and steven sotoloff who were beheaded. in the video it appears that haines is following a script, he denounces british prime minister david cameron holding him responsible for his execution and following a trend of british prime ministers who can't find courage to say no to the americans. the same mask man with the british accent appears in all three videos and like the other two he threatens to kill yet another hostage sometime in the future. cameron called the execution despicable and appalling. he tweeted and released a statement saying that the murder of david haines is a act of pure evil and that his heart goes out to haines family, who have have shown extraordinary courage and fortitude. cameron added we will do everything in our power to hunt down these murders, and ensure that they face justice, however long it takes. haines family has asked for privacy. >> danielle
