eight hours later would the man's atm card was used a the this pnc bank in aberdeen. police released this video of the person of interest. >> that is a bank set up. >> reporter: card was used monday around 6:00 in the morning. minutes later that same man is seen at this nearby shell gas station. he is being described by police as a black male, 25 feet ten, medium to heavy build and 25 to 30 years of age. the man who was wearing a dark will colored jacket with the dark colored hood and dark colored pants. some folks have not been following this two state investigation. we showed them video of the person of interest. >> i have never heard of it. first you informed me but i'll keep my eye out. >> reporter: others have been paying close attention. >> i have been hearing a lot. people seem concerned. i think other people say they will be okay. >> reporter: this store manager did not want to speak on camera but say they are cooperating with the authorities. he tells me fbi agents came to the store to dust for fingerprints and search for or clues that could lead them to this

the man is inside this aberdeen shell station for less than a minute. he walks in with his hood up, grabs a bottle of water and pays in cash. these are some of the clearest images of the person of interest in the kidnapping of carlesha freeland-gaither. we were inside the store as an fbi agent stood by adrink case and wouldn't allow customers to touch it. we were outside as they dusted that case for prints. it's believed the man came here just minutes after he used carlesha freeland-gaither's atm card monday morning. we learned outdoor cameras were not rolling and it's unclear if the man took off in the same gray car used in the abduction or if the cars were switched. now, i did just check in with the philadelphia office of the fbi. they tell me that so far, nothing has been found in terms of that car at this point. i want to let you know the geography of the area. we're about a mile from i-95, a mile from i-40. it's unclear at this point where police think that this man may have gone, again, there's no cameras out here rolling. there's not any points w

we're joined live from aberdeen with the latest on this story. deio deiona. >> reporter: we can tell you federal agents from baltimore and philadelphia spent the day here in aberdeen, many times coming in and out of this pnc bank here. we're a half mile from the i-95 exit, so it's believed that whoever came off that exit used that atm card here, may have gotten right back on to the highway. the cameras inside, three cameras in that atm area, one on the outside door, one inside and one on the atm machine. we can tell you that investigators have been showing photographs from those surveillance cameras to the victim's family, and they are telling us they don't immediately recognize that man. however, investigators with the philadelphia police department, the baltimore division of the fbi and the philadelphia division of the fbi have not yet released those images to the public. so they're not releasing them to the public but are showing them to the victim's family. we can also tell you federal agents have been canvassing several shops, stores and gas

then the next morning, this man was caught on camera at an atn aberdeen, maryland. he was using carlesha's bank card. then later even more surveillance video, this one from a gas station and convenience store showing that person of interest, this footage also coming from aberdeen, maryland, and then just today, we saw this, footage from a grocery store along the roosevelt boulevard in philadelphia, this was shot just eight hours before the attack and near the scene of the crime. it was these clips that allowed police to identify their suspect and eventually track down his car with carlesha inside. >> all right, so, you see the time line there and police actually said this afternoon how important getting that information to the public was, that they really think all of those videos, all of those photos, that they were able to accumulate over the several days that she had been abducted that those really did help them to find that suspect who they found this evening in maryland, in jessup maryland is where they found him and in the car with him carlesha gaither. we hav

now investigators have focused their search in aberdeen, maryland. they believe that this man caught on surveillance video is the same person who used freeland-gaither's atm card a short time later. nbc 10's katy zachry is live at philadelphia police headquarters with more on the investigation. katy? >> reporter: tracy, a few minutes ago, carlesha's grandmother told me the family has got no new information overnight. i talked with northwest detectives recently. they told me they're waiting on investigators in maryland to deliver new information. what we do have this morning is new video of the victim being abducted as well as a new picture of the suspect. carlesha freeland-gaither was last seen on a philadelphia street corner walking home sunday night. here is video of the moment before she was abducted. it shows the suspect approach her. look closely and you see him reach out for her hand. but when the victim tries to get around him, he lunges and grabs her. another camera picks up the pair struggling down the block. then freeland-gaither is forced

it was captured around 6 o'clock monday morning inside a convenience store in aberdeen maryland around the time police say this man used freeland-gaither's debit card at a nearby pnc bank. fbi agents were on the ground yesterday searching for this video and other evidence. we're also now seeing the first moments when freeland-gaither came into contact with her abductor on sunday night. he reached his hand out to her. you see her black away. the man lunges at her and forces her down west coweller street against her will. >> he was very brutal how he took her down the street. >> reporter: freeland-gaither's family says they moved from maryland several years ago and she left behind an obsessed boyfriend. police need more but confirm they have leads and persons of interest including this man. >> he just was aggressive. he didn't show any other signs of anything else. he was just aggressive. i just told her to stay away from him. >> reporter: the 22-year-old nursing assistant works at presbyterian hospital. her family just wants her home. >> she was always there for anybody and everybody. n

right now about this time, taken down in aberdeen, maryland. going right to it, they analyze the gas station convenience store surveillance of this man using her debit cards for drinks, smacks, leaving electronic trail of evidence, and leading the fbi down the maryland, that 74 miles away, south of philly, an hour 20 drive down 95. that puts him at the gas station, and moments before, at pnc bank atm machine right across the parking lot from the gas station, making cash withdrawal, nine hours after carlesha was kidnapped sunday night here in philly. not only put out by police or the fbi, yet, if they have it, any outside the station video, where there are even more surveillance cameras, that would likely show what car the guy came in, and maybe who else is in that car. like a second man maybe holding carlesha hostage. because she is likely still with them at the pnc bank machine detectives theorize, because they would need to get her pin number to use her card here and would want her nearby in case she didn't give them the correct number, conti
