dylan dreyer has made her way to erie, pennsylvania. dylan, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning, savannah. i got my start in tv here in erie, pennsylvania, and lake-effect snow is as quirky now as it was then. we've got lighter snow here on the shore. if i swam out there, there would be snowfall rates of about 3 to 5 inches per hour. just a shift in the wind will make its way on shore here and we'll start to see really heavy snow with low visibilities. snow has been to blame for so many problems across the country this past weekend and yesterday as well. we're in dayton, ohio. we saw yet another deadly car crash because of the slippery roads. now it's all about the lake-effect snow. it's already shut down roads from here to buffalo, i-90 has shut down in areas where the snow is coming down. and about three feet of snow is already on the ground. heavy snow even off lake michigan as well and rapid city where we're seeing this really heavy snow. these bands of snow come in off the lake as this frigid air crosses over the relativ
