i'm with fda on this one. i had a colleague, a former colleague who was taking care of patients in africa, who got a needle stick. didn't develop ebola symptoms, but as you can imagine, everybody was very worried about him and he took one of the new therapeutics and got really, really ill. and you see that a lot. in antiinfectives that you're trying to tweak the immune system. you're trying to trick the immune system into mustering its defenses against this bug and the case of ebola, which you know, it's whole motive is to turn off the immune system and kind of sneak around into all the organs and the immune system doesn't know it's there until it's really multiplied beyond control. you turn on the immune system in the wrong way and you can kill people, so we have to do safety trials. it is crazy to think about giving out i think vaccine or therapeutics, particularly therapeutics, without safety trials. we do have to figure out how to do them very efficiently and effectively. about which this much brouhaha rig
